With the popup walls and the soundtrack, I'm getting a nice Doom vibe here. Same here - for how good the game looks, those sword swipes look awful. Motion control attacking? I'm wondering if you can dodge or parry. The video seemed straight on & only showed a small backup move to get away from an attack. Also can you save along the way or only after each dungeon? Health potions a plenty? Why are we gathering loot? Is it to upgrade items? Is there a map? I hate being lost in a dungeon! These are curious questions more than anything else. Thanks in advance! However, I found videos for the first 6 levels and it doesn't look like anything changes the further you get. You still have the same sword and fire spell, and I don't understand why you are collecting all of this gold for if there are no other weapons or spells to upgrade to. Are there any initial impressions from the forums yet? RPGGuy Well-Known Member Sep 3, 2008 827 0 0 #19 RPGGuy, Nov 11, 2015 There is no blocking, just manual evasion. This game was designed to be playable on the Apple TV remote and you only have 2 buttons so it was limited to a ranged attack and sword attack. The controls were kept simple on purpose. Gold is your score and isn't used to buy things. In a future update there will be Game Center support with leaderboards for how much gold you've collected. There are no maps in this game. Most of the levels are pretty linear and you won't have any trouble getting lost. A few require you to explore and have multiple routes but aren't so big that you need a map. There are no checkpoints, you have to finish and survive each dungeon completely before you can advance to the next. MFI controllers are supported and the preferred way to play! There are no additional downloads after the game is installed, and the game is 165 MB. I agree the sword animation can be improved and will work on that and any other suggestions you may have. IOSgamer1980 Well-Known Member Nov 6, 2015 432 2 18 #20 IOSgamer1980, Nov 11, 2015 Looks like a solid foundation for a top notch dungeon crawler in terms of presentation and technology. I just wish the gameplay were more detailed. There are PC games more than a decade old that give the player a repertoire of different swings and other techniques, why not have an ice and lightening projectile and make them upgradeable? Also with gold, you don't even have to create an economy with a bunch of gear that you have to worry about balancing. Just set the player to receive weapon and armor upgrades at consistent gold thresholds that are awarded after each level or at in-dungeon "shops." It would make finding the secret areas much more vital too. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
