No. I really wish this had a tap left or right to move in that direction instead. Mongapop Well-Known Member Feb 25, 2014 138 0 0 http://www.mongapop.com #3 Mongapop, Sep 30, 2015 We tried. I think the code is even there. Have you tried the tilt controls? Gets really natural after a few seconds. I can't count how many platformers I've seen just go completely down the drain because of tilt controls. No matter how good anyone thinks they might feel... It's always a good idea to research what's out there... What's worked... What's been railed against by gamers... And at this point in time, a platformer without customizable controls already gets a knock against it. Oh well... unlimitedfury Well-Known Member Jan 25, 2014 55 0 0 #7 unlimitedfury, Oct 1, 2015 Please add touch controls! I tried tapping left and right and it didn't take. The music and art direction are fantastic! It adds a learning curve that doesn't need to be there. But before, I need to work a little bit more on my 9to5 occupation Free, no ads, no iaps apps cant pay my bills!! remember, this is true indie! No fancy publisher, no large teams and so on... It's a pretty decent game other than that. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #11 syntheticvoid, Oct 1, 2015 iphone 5/ iOS 7.1.2 ... Love the Bean games. So I'm totally in as soon as there are touch controls! Mongapop Well-Known Member Feb 25, 2014 138 0 0 http://www.mongapop.com #14 Mongapop, Oct 2, 2015 Will test it on the simulator asap. Apple kind of screwed with orientation development after they launched 6 and 6+. I refuse to flush all that $$ down the drain. =o) To be clear - I don't expect you to fix it. I know iOS 7 is outdated. I was just letting you and others know. I really don't expect any newer games to work on my phone anymore... But if you do manage to wind up fixing it, you'll definitely have my respect, and will have won over a fan/supporter for the future. =oP If not, no big deal. I'll play it in the future whenever I update to an iPhone 6. =o) Mongapop Well-Known Member Feb 25, 2014 138 0 0 http://www.mongapop.com #17 Mongapop, Oct 2, 2015 Well, actually I think it's not possible to download the iDevice simulator running iOS 7 anymore. I might have an old 4S lying around somewhere, or even an old 4th generation iPod Touch. Let me see what can I do, maybe it's an easy fix and it can go along with the new (additional) touch controls... About touch controls: I BET! everyone would still prefer the original tilt controls. Today, with the tilt controls, when you tilt the screen by, lets say 5 degrees, it's completely different than tilting 90 degrees! How could I implement that with touch controls? syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #18 syntheticvoid, Oct 2, 2015 I hate to say it, because I hate them... but a slider might work. Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #19 Exact-Psience, Oct 2, 2015 Depends... Scenario1: If it's just 2 levels of speed, you can do tap and hold for the 5-degree tilt, and doubletap and hold for the 90-degree tilt. Alternatively, you can have a run/dash button to be pressed simultaneously with the direction buttons. Scenario2: if it's multiple levels of speed, a slider would work wonders. A slider with a knob in the middle for neutral/stop. Move the knob a little to the left moves at that appropriate speed, while moving the knob all the way to the left moves to the left at max speed. Same thing when moving the knob to the right. Scenario3: Auto-acceleration while pressing the left/right buttons. Check out Bean Dreams by kumobius. Moving left or right has an acceleration, which also applies while in the air to provide for some form of control over the landing and jump trajectory. Hope this helps. H4nd0fg0d Well-Known Member Mar 30, 2010 1,905 0 36 #20 H4nd0fg0d, Oct 2, 2015 The Bean Dreams scenario would seem to be the most viable touch solution imo. Good stuff EP.
