I hope they are as responsive as they need to be. Looking for imps. Devjsc Member Sep 25, 2015 12 0 0 #3 Devjsc, Sep 25, 2015 I can confirm touch input is very responsive, tilt input sensitivity can be adjusted in the menu. I'm the dev of this game so feel free to ask me any questions, and thanks for sharing! Jetjet Well-Known Member May 14, 2010 1,711 0 0 #4 Jetjet, Sep 26, 2015 Hi ! Nobody for asking you a few questions ? Surprising because your game seems tonbe very polished and looks like the classic FEZ ! Is tilt system ? I would like to take a look because it seems to be my cup of tea but waiting for a few more reviews before digging it ! Devjsc Member Sep 25, 2015 12 0 0 #5 Devjsc, Sep 26, 2015 I've been working on Forgotten Ball for two years, so It certainly is polished - a couple of bugs have been found today (but nothing crazy) and I will update apps accordingly. Game features two control systems; one is what you see an on screen button system - the other is a tilt system (toggable in menu) which you can adjust sensitivity. Honestly, I am sending promo codes all over, but no one is picking it up - Forgotten Ball is going down well at the expo I'm at at the moment. A ew journo's don't 'get it' which I will address maybe, but its an old school platformer exploration game - not everything is obvious Devjsc Member Sep 25, 2015 12 0 0 #6 Devjsc, Sep 26, 2015 Is there an editorial team here I can send a promo code to? rezn Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Mar 8, 2014 862 6 18 Male Coder/Keyer in medical ICD 10 Reno, NV #7 rezn, Sep 27, 2015 This does look interesting. And they do. It's at [email protected] I do not work for them. Just an active member especially in the front page and hot new games posts. See me on Twitter @rezn or here at the same name if you'd just like to chat. Lavender Well-Known Member Dec 31, 2013 2,966 0 36 United States #9 Lavender, Sep 27, 2015 Your game looks very nice. I think sometimes it just takes a little while to get noticed. And, with the help of promoting, obviously. Pm me your email and I'll send you some tips if your interested. Good luck. Ty-Ty2020 Well-Known Member Aug 15, 2015 122 0 0 #10 Ty-Ty2020, Sep 27, 2015 I want to get this but at the moment my account is broke Jetjet Well-Known Member May 14, 2010 1,711 0 0 #11 Jetjet, Sep 28, 2015 Any review ? Don't know why this topic seems so lonely ! Frennis Well-Known Member Jul 10, 2011 79 0 6 Sydney #12 Frennis, Sep 28, 2015 Impressions: I've spent an hour or so with it. Not a casual game! It's a challenging technical platformer rather than a balancing ball-roller. It looks like a lot of TLC has gone into the level design. (It's one HUGE maze with switches and moving bits.). The virtual buttons could be a little bigger but I can't really fault the controls, and the mechanics are fine. The camera system is tough going sometimes - it can be hard to see what's a platform you can use. (A virtual joystick for the camera would be good - maybe one that snapped back to the auto view.) There's no hand-holding, which could be okay if the atmosphere wasn't so austere, but as it is I'm battling to hang in there. Maybe it's just for younger fingers and sharper minds than mine. Or bigger screens than an ipod6. Right now I'm at a point where I have to ride the little ball on a rotating cube and it's kicking my butt like an old-skool platformer. I don't know if I'm going to see the other side of that ride. rezn Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Mar 8, 2014 862 6 18 Male Coder/Keyer in medical ICD 10 Reno, NV #13 rezn, Sep 28, 2015 That was pretty much how I feel. It it's an awesome game. Tough through and through. It really is nice when you jump the ball just right and hit those seemingly out of reach platforms. Once I realized how large the first level was that's when I could see the love that went into this game. Reminds me of building Construx as a kid. If anyone remembers those. And then being the ball that has to roll around the whole set. Will play more so I can give more feedback. orangebowl Active Member Jul 11, 2015 32 0 0 #14 orangebowl, Sep 28, 2015 Would love to try your game, but i afraid that the controls wont be good enough Jetjet Well-Known Member May 14, 2010 1,711 0 0 #15 Jetjet, Sep 28, 2015 Thanks for your advices and impressions ! Will keep a look on it so Devjsc Member Sep 25, 2015 12 0 0 #16 Devjsc, Sep 28, 2015 Thank you for your feeeback - I may be adding camera movement support. Forgotten Ball I don't think is not casual - but it certainly isn't mean to be easy. I have seen that some platforms are a little obscure - and I'm not sure how to correct this I am adding custom colour choosing (so you can select floor/geometry colours). Forgotten Ball is inspired by old school platformers - butt kickings included, but I think there is true satisfaction in beating areas. Button size is set to 2/9ths of the screen height in a portrait view - i'm thinking I should check devices and set a minimum physical size. One thing i really wanted to say is that the rotating cube you're on is optional. It isn't obvious I know as some tough bits are optional as I just knew that some would find it too hard (and I really wanted optional areas in game). Thanks again for your feedback, updates are going in tonight. Frennis Well-Known Member Jul 10, 2011 79 0 6 Sydney #17 Frennis, Sep 30, 2015 Thanks Devjsc, I detoured around the cubic unicycle thing. I got to an inverted light-blue part where the ball has to do an avoidance dance with two red cubes on an orange bar that moves down slowly and ..you know. I thought I'd try it again this evening but the switch that gets the bar moving is gone. Any tips? Devjsc Member Sep 25, 2015 12 0 0 #18 Devjsc, Sep 30, 2015 That sounds like a horrid bug; I'm thinking maybe you quit out and the app didn't save properly - clutching at straws there. I know the area you're at; that area has strict code so the button is always reset (on game start regardless). I assume the orange bar is at the top; and two blocks are in place but no button there? Have you rolled over where button should be? (it could be camera height hiding it). Worst case - I will post an update tonight forcing the button location to be reset. There's a load of other updates to be uploaded anyway but I've been stressing with Android release -.- Also on the off chance could you quit out of game, and relaunch app? Just in case saves have somehow got confused. Sorry there Frennis. Just one thing though, pretty early on I fell off the edge and ended up falling for a good 30-60s and landed on a checkpoint at the bottom. Is this intended? Seems harder down here so I'm wondering if I skipped half the game. Also minor request, could it support rotating the screen? I'm deaf in my right ear so I like speakers facing towards my left headphones working fine for now though (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
