Improved frame rate results in much faster and smoother movement in line with faster rogues and runners. A new real-time combat system allows better control and tuning, but you can still let go of all game controls to pause the action. Dungeons are redesigned for quicker rogue-like play with a much stronger boss, and his cronies, waiting at the very end. Dungeon layouts, monsters and treasure are all randomized for replayability, and dungeons fill with more monsters as you level up. You have tons of options. Choose Fighter, Ranger or Wizard. Each requires a different strategy. Also pick Human, Elf, Dwarf or Halfling, as well as gender. Then the Academy Store is always available with a huge selection of armor, weapons and spells to customize your unique hero. Treasure and experience have been tuned for faster leveling and more equipment purchases to try things out. The Academy has also been shortened to get you into the real world faster. Missions have also been revamped, but you still have the hero quest to become Hero of the Land. You can use missions to gain coins needed for a purchase, or experience required for the next level. You will also find missions with special equipment rewards. Now create your hero candidate, graduate with honors, and venture out to beat back the invading horde and their ferocious masters. You spelled it correctly in the description. Ayjona Well-Known Member Sep 8, 2009 3,295 21 38 Freelance journalist and writer, amateur musician Stockholm, Sweden #3 Ayjona, Sep 23, 2015 The App Store description doesn't inspire much confidence, but the screenshots far more so. Man that sucks lol well the screen shots are intriguing I love this genre I think I can't resist Avatre Well-Known Member Apr 30, 2013 416 0 16 #5 Avatre, Sep 24, 2015 Definitely a shame about the name, but I really like the look of the screenshots. Any impressions available from someone who's already bought it? Roleki Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2012 432 0 0 #6 Roleki, Sep 24, 2015 Hell no, it's Dune-o-neers! Please come back with some imps when you've played it a little. 8BitFlash Well-Known Member May 19, 2015 182 0 0 #7 8BitFlash, Sep 24, 2015 A game that doesn't even check and make sure it's name is spelled right is not going to be a game on my iPad.... Repulsa Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2015 1,584 81 48 #8 Repulsa, Sep 24, 2015 Kinda reminds me of alchemy dungeons without the crafting and perma death. Might be too easy for hardcore rogue- like fans but a good beginner for those just coming into the dungeon crawling genre or a change of pace for those that need a break from the really hard games. I actually like it mojojojo82 Member Mar 1, 2014 19 0 0 #9 mojojojo82, Sep 24, 2015 Last edited: Sep 24, 2015 So I bought the game and played a level. It's a softcore Rogue-like, with a click-per-turn based action system... Fairly standard mechanics here. The first problem I came across was that the game is all quite zoomed in, so you're only seeing a few spaces at a time through the fog of war, but the map is quite large. So you press quickly to move to get anywhere, but before you know it you've uncovered a mob. The problem here is that your bow is very strong with unlimited ammo, and if you move a space or two closer to the mob by accident without using it, you make the fight a lot harder. But then you're left wandering really slowly around a massive dungeon with only a handful of mobs... Which gets boring. What makes it even more boring is that you have to open every chest and kill every monster to get three stars. Which I could barely be bothered to do on the first level alone. If it were more zoomed out, if rooms were larger and your avatar smaller, and they remove the 'open every chest and kill every monster' feature this could be okay as a run of the mill rogue with nice graphics. As it stands it feels like I'm forever trying to wade through a fog of war that's far too close to my nose, to then suddenly find myself next to a spider. Other stuff. There are two classes. Only tried the fighter - looks to be some ok weapons - but nothing particularly inspiring, scrolls, hp potions, that kind of stuff. The controls are a bit old school - directional arrows and separate attack buttons that take up a big chunk of your screen. Given the oversized graphics, they could probably have gotten away with just having you touch where you want to move or attack. I love Rogues, so I might give it another try one day, but I'm not particularly inspired at the moment. I'm curious to see what happens after the first level I am just getting three stars on every stage and then I am on to level 2 Ragn4rok 74 Well-Known Member Oct 9, 2014 264 0 0 #11 Ragn4rok 74, Sep 25, 2015 I'm thinking of getting this. I've tried about every roguelike. It's either this or grabbing Wayward Souls for iOS (I played it on android last year). Just out of curiosity, does your appearance change based on which gear you equip? I always like to see that. icepulse Well-Known Member Aug 7, 2008 600 0 0 #12 icepulse, Sep 25, 2015 Where the F is Sanuku when you need him? I'm in the second area now. Sometimes it can get really tedious opening every single chest and barrel, and when I've killed all the enemies and explored the whole dungeon, sometimes it will say I still haven't opened and found all treasure, which reallllllly sucks. Excuse going back through the thenENTIRE dungeon looking in every nook and cranny for one missed treasure box is very annoying. But all in all great game. Are there any big boss fights or anything? I just beat the first area of levels so I'm pretty early on. Also it would be great if we could customize controls because I wish I could have the dpad on the left side of my screen...even better yet I wish it would be joy stick, or I wish I could make the dpad smaller. It is just so big and awkward to use . It is a fun game I like the upgrading and gear customization CodeFu Member Oct 19, 2015 24 0 0 http://funspraygames.com/ #20 CodeFu, Oct 24, 2015 There are a few barrels or chests that are a bit harder to notice, but you really don't need them all (unless you just have to 3 star everything). There is a boss in the last Academy level and in roughly a half or third of the dungeons, but they do not spawn every time. They appear at random locations, so you may see them very quickly or not until much later. They will drop a higher gold stash or one of the higher level items they carry. The boss details are not visible in the Monster Folio until you have seen them. The website has the boss details, and the hints that appear at the bottom of the map scene. I will definitely add the control swap from left to right in the next update. I can even look into the joystick style control. The game movement is tile based, but there is no reason a joystick would not work. We are looking at new items and a few improvements, so we don't have an expected date yet.
