The perspective and chunky pixels remind me of Activision's Boxing on the 2600. But this is more strategic than that, as well as today's typically frenetic FTP games. WillyPT Member Sep 17, 2015 18 0 0 #6 WillyPT, Sep 23, 2015 Activision's Boxing was a key inspiration. kind of wanted to see if we could produce a modern twist to that abstract Atari top down look. It also fits with the punch mechanic imo. Well i hope you like it! If you haven't already, try two player with a friend. The game was built around multiplayer as a core. vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,489 177 63 #7 vectorarchitekt, Sep 23, 2015 Hey this is a pleasant surprise. Neddy F Well-Known Member Dec 7, 2009 158 0 16 #9 Neddy F, Sep 23, 2015 This is great! The same device multiplayer is inspired too! Reminds me a bit of the back and fourth of Nidhogg. WillyPT Member Sep 17, 2015 18 0 0 #10 WillyPT, Sep 23, 2015 Glad you are enjoying it! Nidhogg's back and forth energy was a good inspiration. We wanted a stage for people to challenge each other with their favorite characters, and not divide it in to rounds. chief78 Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2012 2,317 7 38 #11 chief78, Sep 23, 2015 Yeah, fantastic quickplay game. I like the refreshing mechanics! pizzapoke Member Jan 17, 2013 17 0 0 #12 pizzapoke, Sep 23, 2015 Been playing this game a bit, and it's a lot of fun. I love the amount of different characters and that they have different maps and stuff. Ty-Ty2020 Well-Known Member Aug 15, 2015 122 0 0 #13 Ty-Ty2020, Sep 24, 2015 This game is amazing! I love how you guys took the Crossy Road type of formula and made it your own. The way you get prizes, the gameplay, the bonus stages, the enemy and environment types all make for a fresh and fun experience! And all for free! Of course you can pay for characters of you so choose but nothing is forced. I'm planning on buying a few to support you guys! Hope this gets featured! 9x16 Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2015 137 0 0 EST/EDT #14 9x16, Sep 24, 2015 Last edited: Sep 24, 2015 The collection of new characters is innovative. For one, you have to work to get them, fighting each game-controlled character like in the 2P game. Moreover, the characters have difficulty levels, from easy to chaos. I've gotten one hard character so far (a mutant with claws - heh), and it was a bit of work to beat it. I'm not sure what happens if you lose one of these matches - and I'm not inclined possibly give up 100 coins to find out. Anyhow, it'd be great if the computer 2P game was always available as a game mode. [Edit] Oh yeah, I meant to add that the character difficulty levels drive the game difficulty too, with the hard character taking me straight to the boss fight. My highest distance is 54 WillyPT Member Sep 17, 2015 18 0 0 #19 WillyPT, Sep 28, 2015 It depends on the character, most of them have the boss spawn at around 65. some of the characters start the boss straight away! And nothing goes too far past 100m.
