The premium version of the game gives you 1000 premium points. The free one doesn't. But that's not precisely where things end. In the IAP shop, you can buy the usual cheat items, but there are also items that double XP gain, gold gain, etc. If you don't buy them, you're going to find progress a bit slower in the game than usual. They've obviously deliberately nerfed those things. So, if you buy the premium version, you can use those 1000 free points to buy all the doublers, and ta-da, you've got your usual game. Or you can play for free with a hefty grind. Up to you. In addition to the regular shop, there's also a bonus game where you can spend tickets to get a random weapon. Tickets come in different grades, and the best ones can only be bought with premium points. You earn points by fighting battles, and one of the doublers doubles the points you earn, so it's not too bad. I'm enjoying the game so far, too. But I'll save that for the review, haha. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #7 syntheticvoid, Sep 4, 2015 Oh, Shaun, you rock so friggin much! Thank you for the info and details. It was a little fuzzy just reading the AppStore description. Guess I'll snag it while it's on sale. I'm still in the middle of my first playthrough of the original Asdivine, so I'm gonna finish that up before taking this on. But it's good to know what I'm getting into. =o) schnedi Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2015 122 0 0 #8 schnedi, Sep 4, 2015 were is the free version? cant find!! Forget it, I'm buying this. Looks incredible. Btw Shaun, is it recommended to use those points to get doublers or does that make the game too easy? I want it to play like a "normal RPG ". Don't want xp growth to be too fast or too slow. Shaun Musgrave Well-Known Member Jul 8, 2013 1,088 3 38 Freelance writer, teacher, business owner Ibaraki, Japan #10 Shaun Musgrave, Sep 4, 2015 I've found the doublers balance the game to a normal rate. I'm playing both versions because this is what being thorough for reviews means, and the Free version is really stingy all around. They had Asdivine as a base so I think they know roughly what to do right. However two things I don't like. 1) the battle sprites are really cool (having "fluid" movement) however they're ridiculously blurry compared to everything else in the game that is retina sharp. I have no idea why. 2) They removed the block gem mechanic which was one of the best things in AH. Now it's more focused on upgrading weapons which isn't as good because you can end up upgrading an old weapon or waiting it out for a new weapon better which causes issues. scifistephen Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze May 4, 2013 66 0 6 #17 scifistephen, Sep 4, 2015 Why the free version,I've bought all these games before and never seen any free versions,I hope they're not leaning towards freemium Garbage Solarclipse Well-Known Member Jul 30, 2012 879 64 28 #18 Solarclipse, Sep 5, 2015 Played for a few hours. I'm enjoying it. The battle graphics look likely are iPhone and not iPad assets? It's fine but a little surprising at first. Maybe it's fixable. Buying weapons is silly with this weapon customization system. I don't know, I'm on the fence about that aspect. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #19 L.Lawliet, Sep 5, 2015 I'm still really liking this though the weapon system is better as an additional system to the gem slotting. For it to replace it is a bad decision imo. Gem slotting was like FF7/Resident Evil 4 mash up which I absolutely loved. Now it's basically digging for weapons and tossing weapons out which can get really hectic with a pile of weapons. Solarclipse Well-Known Member Jul 30, 2012 879 64 28 #20 Solarclipse, Sep 6, 2015 Yeah, farming weapons to build up abilities you want to transfer is messy, the equivalent of gaming busy work. It doesn't Wally add to the experience...much simpler to have gems you level up or something. I do like the experience angle, in that every weapon you find can be of some use and not just a throwaway. In asdivine hearts I remember finding a weapon. That upgraded normal attack damage....I leveled it up and put gave a berserk gem to the owner and their normal attacks were doing about as much as specials I do like the battle shortcuts, the semi auto button, and the target menu that pops up near the attack buttonsbattles don't drag much at all. Of course, I have effects off and battle speed to the max. I don't know, some of these kemko games have really wierd systems. Like the limit break where you can go 5 or six times...it can break a fight. You can also use it to get pretty insane boosts in experience when you find exp double items later in the game. Assuming those are here too. Then there is the BP system here which has very powerful moves. Its like a buffet. A lot of options that don't make for a meal that works together, but you are bound to find something that tastes good. I like being able to change the difficulties to up the challenge. It would be nice o know exactly how the rewards are better though. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
