I'd there anyway I can participate in the gameplay without leaving my home? Tried playing and seems the figure does not move on screen so I assume player must literally walk around outside. I'd love too be able to play this game, even without being a part of a team as it would be fun if it was set up for players staying home and gameplay could occur by touch or something else and character could move around. Any chance this could ever be an option got those of us without the ability to be mobile. Please let me know if this is something you might include as an option in a future update? Id love it and I'll bet other people with mobility issues would appreciate and enjoy. Your game looks like much fun. Hope you might consider my request or it would be impissible, especially as you are a one man developer. I in any event, kudos yo you. Great idea and concept and graphics are perfect for object of the game. I really need to check it out as well lavenders2 Active Member Feb 14, 2013 37 0 0 #6 lavenders2, Sep 3, 2015 This game has sparked my curiosity, but I dont have the required ios8.2. Any impressions? What do you actually do in this game and is it any good? gormster Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2011 131 0 16 #7 gormster, Sep 3, 2015 Hi lavenders2! Which iOS version are you using? I built this game to try out some modern iOS features and just lazily left it on the default 8.2 setting as the minimum version, but I can maybe turn that down in a future update. I can't give an honest opinion on how fun the game is as it is itself an experimental idea whoch I wanted to see how much others enjoy it. The general idea is that as you walk around in the real world you slowly reveal a shared map of the world that corresponds to your location in real life. You can choose to alter what types of tile is at you current location, or ask for a vote for your chosen colour party if you are at a house, but different households will only vote for you if you provide the types of tiles they request! gormster Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2011 131 0 16 #8 gormster, Sep 3, 2015 Hi louisa! I definitely considered such user situations while designing the game, and it's a struggle to find the right balance between the core concept and inclusiveness. There are roughly 400 in game tiles per square mile in the real world, to ensure that players don't have to traverse large distances to move from square to square. Also, as a collaborative game, any amount of participation can help a player's in-game party, even just by checking into the app at intervals when away from home. I will definitely keep your suggestions in mind, and feel free to PM me if you have any more specific ideas or further suggestions! lavenders2 Active Member Feb 14, 2013 37 0 0 #9 lavenders2, Sep 4, 2015 Thanks for the reply! Im currently using ios 8.1 PapaBrady New Member Nov 7, 2015 1 0 0 #10 PapaBrady, Nov 7, 2015 Neat game, I like the concept and have been trying to gather steps and votes for the last hour or so, moving Pink from 7% up to 10%. Not really sure how to do anything with regards to the party I joined or its leader/those of any other leaders or players- is there anywhere I can find more info about that? gormster Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2011 131 0 16 #11 gormster, Nov 15, 2015 Hi PapaBrady In it's current form Democracy Quest is pretty much just a party vs party popularity contest. It was designed with a slightly larger player base in mind, which would have caused the numbers to fluctuate more and for teamwork to be a bit more essential. Unfortunately, there hasn't been as much uptake as I had hoped. I had planned future updates based around parties using their power to make decisions and apply changes to the game world, but due to the muted reception I've decided to focus instead on my Pixel King revamp. Nice to know there are a few of you out there who 'got' it though! Who knows, I might return to Democracy Quest development if I find the time eventually. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
