So I have been playing this game for the past 24 hours, and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. Artwork is gorgeous and very unique. A bit pixilated in certain places like the characters that talk when going along with the storyline. Not really a big deal though. The game mechanics are really awesome. I love the originality in how battles work. At least its unlike anything I have experienced yet. So thats a huge plus. I have a few gripes with the overall performance and look. Mainly, I get very frustrated when clicking on each step of ship creation. I have an iPhone 6 and my phone freezes for a good little while before each step. It's a little bit annoying but I'm sure its easily fixable and related to the fact that this is a very early version. I also am not a huge fan of how hard it is to find parts for upgrading units. It seems pretty difficult to get the necessary materials. I have tons of one of the materials, but the other material needed for upgrading I almost never see in the game. I would also like to see more ways for us to customize our towns. Right now the town upgrades and buildings are very boring. I'm fairly early in the game (so I don't know if this is a feature or not), but I would love to see buildings grow and change as upgrades are completed. I would also love to see a multiplayer faction or guild feature, where other battle methods are implemented. (Example: Group battles, 3vs3, 2vs2, etc.) I think their should be a chat feature, to give the game a bit more of a social aspect, or multiplayer feel. I think the game could really benefit from this feature. Chatting could be done in the regular ways, guild chat, public chat, private chat, etc. Might require some remodelling of the interface. I think that the arena feature needs a bit of work. Kinda seems like it works in a way that benefits the higher level players. So maybe have the arena divided into different level categories 1-5, 6-10, 11-15 or 1-10, 11-20... This will allow more players the chance to win prizes and will also add that sense of fairness so that it's not lvl 5 players going against lvl 20 players. Still not 100% sure how this arena works completely so could be seeing it differently from others. There are some bugs and crashes that happen, mostly when I'm creating a crew. Minor problems. Overall, this is probably one of the best new games I have recently found in the App Store (Thank you TouchArcade). The first impressions are very positive and I am definitely looking forward to seeing what else is to come in the future updates. ramzarules Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 2,112 128 63 Greece #5 ramzarules, Oct 21, 2015 My impressions: + lovely artwork, funny writing and presentation (i lauged out loud with Swagaddin) - the ship making process is tedius having to tap each step, i think you should simplify it in one menu. - i found the 3rd story battle too difficult after getting Grobbinhood, i kept losing all my ships there. So it's where i lost interest. SashJ Well-Known Member Jul 18, 2015 85 0 0 #6 SashJ, Oct 21, 2015 Last edited: Oct 21, 2015 I also believe that the crew building process should be make into one quick process maybe have it in 3 columns one for each component of the ship. Then you can have it so that the options are stacked from the highest level or whatever on top to the lowest level at the bottom. Then we can just scroll down each column and add them all together more quickly. Saves a lot of time. The wait time can just be added together a the end and you can wait the specified time in one big chunk instead of 3 tedious chunks. You also don't need to get rid of the three animations for the ship creation. Instead we can just watch and grab items through the whole process without stopping. I also think that their should be notifications if any of your crew components can be upgraded be the right amount of materials have been collected. It saves us time so that we don't have to go through every component to check if their enough materials. Mordutte Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jun 22, 2011 71 26 18 Male Paris, France #8 Mordutte, Oct 21, 2015 Hi guys, Thanks a lot for the already precious inputs! We're stoked from the positive reactions, it might sound naive but positive feedbacks are always a joy to hear. Especially after having been in the dark for so many months Now on the not so positive issues : - Boats Construction: we've been wondering about this for a few weeks now, we're going to optimize and accelerate the flow of construction but it's still a chore mechanic feature and we might not be ready to refactor it yet. I would appreciate to know if the feature is still bugging you after a few days - Boat Menus: also an issue we've been having for months, but I'm just out of a meeting and you gave us motivation to dig further. We should be able to improve that in the next version. It's unacceptable in any case. - Gold Need: we're going to change that server side, indeed the first minutes can be a bit too greedy resource-wise. - Difficulty: same here, we're going to change that server side. - Progression: No reset planned so all progress and purchases should be there to stay. And if something bad should happen you know have a direct line to me so you can harass me plenty - Social features: chat, league and a better pvp are all coming in the next update Thanks again for all the feedbacks already, don't hesitate to drop more or invite other people. It really helps us focus on the user experience to make the game as good as possible SashJ Well-Known Member Jul 18, 2015 85 0 0 #9 SashJ, Oct 21, 2015 So I have an idea how the guilds could work. Basically you have the ability to build a new building at say lvl 10 or 15 (once people have gotten the hang of the game). The build basically is your guild HQ. Building the HQ opens up a new area on the map where theirs a new island that resembles the islands that are part of the storyline. I'll go into detail about that island after I explain functions of the HQ. HQ functions: - guild finances. It's where all the money the guild has made gets put together. This money can be used for upgrades. - guild hierarchy. The HQ shows a list of all members and their levels etc. As well as there titles in the guild. - recruiting options. HQ is where recruiting options will be for inviting or kicking members. - upgrades. The HQ building is where you can go to upgrade guild. Add bonus guild stats etc. More ideas to come. Guild island functions: The island can start with 5 plots of land that each of 5 (starting amount of guild members) guild members can chose from to place their army (which will show as a castle to invading guilds. Each member can have a maximum of 3 armies on the island. They would work much like the way the storyline battles work. Each one must be destroyed in order to defeat a member. All members must be destroyed in order to win the guild battle. Each members can attack a maximum of three times. You can choose to attack one opponent and destroy all their armies. Or you can strategize and attack 3 different players etc. The guild with the most defeated members loses or the guild that runs out of armies to defeat first. The guild that wins gets exp for the guild and its members. Their is also a jackpot that is devided between the members based on the amount of members in the guild. Guild arena icon. Their could be a new guild arena icon added to the main page where you go to have your next opponent chosen at random based on the average level of the guilds members. You can also press a button that sends you to the opponents guild map where each member can chose who they would like to fight. Ideas for customization: A variety of different guild island themes. Some purchasable with gold and some with gems. A larger or different castle based on the members level. Open to other ideas. This is just a rough idea of what I think could be a cool guild system. I'm sure the developers have ideas of their own for what they want SashJ Well-Known Member Jul 18, 2015 85 0 0 #10 SashJ, Oct 21, 2015 Damnit.
