My experience with the paid version of Doodle God HD was they had IAP for hints and they splashed occasional popup ads for their other games. Many ad popups the 'X' button did not work at all and wound up taking me to the app store. There's plenty of content that was worth the price when I bought it. It's a reskin going by the screenshots. (disclaimer: I don't own the new 8-bit version) Doodle God is not a bad game. I don't see any reason to buy more than once.
