You guys really ought to check it out. It's such an awesome time-waster, perfect as a single-player high-score chasing title and even better when played with someone else on the same device. I was super happy seeing it among the other titles in Best New Games and almost 18,000 players on the leaderboards in just over a day? That's awesome! Hope Colin and Folmer see greatness with Battle Golf. They deserve it. Also, for anyone on the fence: Free + ONE SINGLE IAP to remove ads. That's it! Duivs Well-Known Member Apr 13, 2013 1,762 0 0 Guess what? Classified. Classified. #5 Duivs, Jul 31, 2015 This game is really fun. Like seriously, perfect for bus trips or a laugh with friends. Little details like being able to knock out the other player and hot their ball mid air makes this game funny and enjoyable. One gripe I have is that sometimes the ads don't have an exit button, and there is sometimes a glitch when you get back up from being knocked out and you can't hit your ball. I've seen player 1 miss his first ball before, so another one spawns and he hits both on the next swing. However these bugs don't detract from the experience much, it's still a great game ColinL Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 29, 2014 147 0 16 #6 ColinL, Jul 31, 2015 Thanks folks! We appreciate the support as always! yeah there are a few strange quirks (ok, bugs) with the game. The balls collide with each other so if you hit the other players ball away, he will swing at fresh air! We of course are planning some updates so will try to tune out any annoying bugs, feel free to leave any suggestions too! My 5 year old son loves it and destroys me on it! As for suggestions what about optional power ups? They could appear in the air (or for hitting the birds) and the first person to hit it gets the power up. Suggestions for power ups: - bunker - the other player plays from sand for 3 shots - grenade - your next ball is a grenade you can hit the other player with - wall - the opposite player gets a wall in from of them they have to destroy with balls - basketball - extra bounce - big hole - the hole gets bigger - multi ball - hit two balls instead of one You can probably think of better ones! My best shot so far landed on a birds back which flew into the air, halfway up the ball rolled off the bird and into the hole! ColinL Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 29, 2014 147 0 16 #10 ColinL, Jul 31, 2015 haha, I love the Bird pot, I've been helped by the birds a few times. I really like your suggestions! I think I will make a new game mode, Super Battle that will include power-ups. I like the idea of changing the hole size and the grenades too, also the multiball! good stuff, thanks! drelbs Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2009 11,201 7 38 #11 drelbs, Jul 31, 2015 Single player is quite the challenge with this one, but where it really shines is 2-player. Reminds me a lot of the Fishing Derby on the Atari 2600! Neddy F Well-Known Member Dec 7, 2009 158 0 16 #12 Neddy F, Aug 1, 2015 Thanks for the reply! I've just had another idea along the same lines, there could be actions that result from scoring in certain actions. For example if you pot on the whale the opponent gets knocked down by water, if you pot on the octopus your next shot has a tentacle making an extra ramp or bridge to assist you. Then you could add some more interactive holes off the top off my head a volcano (lavas the opponent so their aim and power move slower), a birds nest (next shot has bird assistance). Again being in the business you'll have better ideas. Love your games and have freed them from ads to support more! Classified. Classified. #15 Duivs, Aug 2, 2015 I know Colin listened to suggestions for Wrassling and used some of them so I expect great things of this game too I have some suggestions of my own: - moving holes, like the whale could move apron side to side or something. - rare golden bird that flies in the sky. If you hit it it carries the ball straight into the hole. - WIND, like in Worms/Wrestle Jump/Tanks. Could be toggled in settings. - more characters? The random selection is fine, but some more diversity would be cool. - different types of holes. Instead of all the holes being 'lob it onto the green' types, why not have a sort of cave, with the green inside, with a small entrance on each side which you have to hit the ball into for it to roll. For all holes you can pretty much select the 'golden angle' before the hole even appears and then adjust the power to win every hole. Make us mix it up a bit - Moving barriers to stop the ball. For example if the tentacles of the octopus could collide with the ball, and moved up and down you'd have to time your shot to get it in. - possibly make the balls roll a bit faster- it's agonisingly slow sometimes. One easy IAP to kill the ads. I appreciate any game that offers this. I really hope it does well, as any added features or a part 2 down the road would be great! They have encouraged me to learn the art of coding after I retire. I'm 45 now and I'll be 51 when I retire. I theory craft simple games all the time. My 8 yr old daughter does too. She is surprisingly talented at it. I would learn to code now, but my job is very demanding of my time. Seriously! You should do it, Neddy. Duivs Well-Known Member Apr 13, 2013 1,762 0 0 Guess what? I definitely think interactive themed levels would be amazing. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
