L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #6 L.Lawliet, Jul 18, 2015 There's definitely more IAP and I feel like things "cost" more (for instance each area seems to have a rising cost for harvesting) which could be expensive in the long run but there's so many new things to buy it's great. The game just feels massive. There's a world map and new currency that's fun (but also adds more IAP). There are some rough edges but overall for now, I feel like it's a very good sequel. I need to play more obviously to see all the new stuff they've added and check the costs. I've only made it to the second settlement. One weird thing is it seems like there's no stat screen and looks like your inventory is only shown in the sell item screen. Kind of threw me off there as there's no where else to see what you own. hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,098 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #7 hellscaretaker, Jul 18, 2015 Oh YES i knew there was planning one didnt know how long it be or when.... Our internal testing has shown that no one ended up opening the 'backpack' screen with your resources - but who knows, we might end up putting it back in if it turns out we've made a wrong decision here Thanks for that, we'll get right on it binlabu Well-Known Member Dec 3, 2014 433 0 0 HO CHI MINH CITY , VIET NAM https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjmmjgzHZu-YUVtd0i2oKRA #9 binlabu, Jul 18, 2015 Video Gameplay Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #10 ste86uk, Jul 19, 2015 Ooo amazing I'll have to get this tonight if I get grab it on my CA account. Played the first one so much and unlocked everything in the game I was so addicted to it! And I generally dislike match 3 games as they are so boring for me. Sounds strange not to have an inventory though, I love seeing what I've collected as hoarding items makes me happy so I'd like to be able to check what I have and how much of something I need to get what I want next without going to a sell screen? Although I haven't seen if that's a pain yet but still. Does the game save over the iCloud or anything so I can play on my iPhone and ipad? Also I don't like the EA message about the service just means it could get shut down whenever the game loses popularity I guess? ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #11 ste86uk, Jul 19, 2015 That sucks, not on CA : ( L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #12 L.Lawliet, Jul 19, 2015 @Zagrod: Thanks for dropping by. Great game so far. I do have a couple concerns right now. It seems that money intake seems to be a lot slower than you would be in the original. Money is used to buy so many different things it burns incredibly quick. With each settlement increasing harvesting costs I can see it getting more out of hand. However I'm not far enough to tell if it gets that bad later on. Also the people walking by with icons over there head are getting bothersome only because they walk by harvesting or mines and I can't click my harvest because it keeps clicking the icons on the settler's heads. It gets really frustrating having to wait for them to walk past to click harvest. And since settlements don't share their harvests, what exactly can you do with the items? I only saw I can buy tools but even then, tool slots are very small so many of the items go unused. hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,098 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #13 hellscaretaker, Jul 19, 2015 This is my impression of what I,seen so far. I have played the game solid and I mean solid for 6 hours now, I have a busted leg so been resting it on the bed and playing this game. This plays like its original but it has loads of new content. Yes there timers in game for the buildings to generate items just like original, but there are no timers that stop YOU from playing the game for as long as I have so far. It comes clear early on you Are going to be looking after more then one statement as you grow your kingdom in this new land you been ship wreaked on. There are quests to do, challenges to take on, research to do, accomplishments to reach and I dint think I have even scratched the surface so far. One poster has mention he though gold be a problem, granted I thought that too but carefully game play and opening up your next Settement it falls into how you earn money (I'm not going to spoil it for you, you will have to work it out yourself). There is IAP called runes added to game, but and for the love of god I hope the developers are listening please don't change this cause guess what folks its fair. You can earn additional runes via playing the game normally and they not hard to earn and the cost of using a rune from what I seen is low. But even then you don't need to buy runes to enjoy the game unless you want to rush though the game. So going back to my original statement i have played 6 hours solid so far with no timers to stop me which is often the case in a F2P Game on mobile. Lots of new stuff and features. If you fan of the original then you will enjoy this and if you new to puzzle craft serious you should give this a try... Zagrod New Member Jul 18, 2015 2 0 0 #15 Zagrod, Jul 19, 2015 Yea, there's an iCloud functionality Well, the game isn't always-online, so I guess that's just a standard EA blurb they put in descriptions Yeeeah, sorry about that one. It's fixed already though, so as soon as we push out an update that'll be gone I usually end up buying tools in earlier settlements when I start a new one. At the beginning resources get pretty scarce, so I use my old resources to give myself a bit of a boost Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #16 ste86uk, Jul 19, 2015 Last edited: Jul 19, 2015 You have more than one town? Double Edit: Couldn't resist having a little go before bed and so far it's very similar to what I remembered and enjoyed although I'm barely anywhere with it at all yet. I see it costs gold to go into the match 3 sections but other than quests unsure how I make gold? What did it use to cost in the first time? My worry here is I'll get stuck for gold and won't be able to play. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #17 ste86uk, Jul 19, 2015 Last edited: Jul 19, 2015 On the second settlement now and it feels a little sad that I'll keep moving on because other than workers and gold nothing seems to really carry over with me so it's like it was all for nothing? Also as the money I get from my settlement has increased so has the price to even do my farm field...30g per go and I generate 30g per what 30 minutes? So I can only play once every now and then it seems? I use to be able to play the old one as much as I wanted. With the summoning portal costing runes to summon villagers do they stay across other towns or just at the one your currently in? Also does anything else carry over from town to town? Like I said very unhappy so far with the costs for doing a level being so bad that I can't play often once my initial gold runs out it seems as you get enough for 1 go every 30 minutes which sucks, also that resources don't carry over or it's like starting over again. Also I'm sure gold use to build up over time in your main building not need collecting every 10-30 minutes as it has been so far. Also for my 30g I get every 30 minutes I get 1 turn in the field with less moves than the previous area as I only get 8. Seems like the further I get the more costly things will get meaning it'll be oh well out of gold lets lot off and play one more go in 5 hours when my new village that provides 500g an hour process me with enough gold to do my new 500g field and get a whole 3 turns? hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,098 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #18 hellscaretaker, Jul 19, 2015 As i said in my other post ste8uk i have played the game solid for 6 hours no breaks in-between to wait for any extra items i could get from my buildings. You can play the game as long as you like as often as you like. Dont take this the wrong way but it sounds like you not playing the game right and nor have you worked out how or got to the point of how you can earn extra money from your second settlement. Once again not going to spoil in this thread how you do it but im sure someone will and no its not by cheating either. Do the early challenges and quests as they will give you exp and gold and from the exp as you level up you also even gold also which will see you over to the next part of the game (i did say in my original post, carefully game play its not a straight forward 3 match as you think). Ste8uk as you level up the it will cost you more and more to farm, yet once again play the game right and you have no problems. Too me the developer is nudging you along and stopping you from hoarding masses amount of resources. One nice option is you can unlock a building that will give you one rune every time you watch a advert and thats the only place i seen it, there is none of this pop of adverts games these days do with puzzle quest 2 its more well hears advert if you watch we give you a rune stone on us. This way if you cant make a IAP (under age and all that) or dont want buy a IAP at lest watching advert will give something back to the developer and remember the IAP purchase is optional item its not necessary to play the game. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #19 L.Lawliet, Jul 19, 2015 I do think it's a good game overall but I share the concerns ste86uk has as well. And honestly I don't see how you can play 6 hours straight without stopping once for resources. The second settlement has a rising cost of 30-40 per harvest, 100 or some food for mining. You can beat a harvest or mine level in about 1-2 minutes. If we try to calculate that, you must have a MASSIVE amount of gold somewhere to be playing at that pace for 6 hours straight without stopping (unless you're not actually doing harvest or mining missions). As long as you like to play just doesn't seem accurate at all in my opinion. Gold runs everything and they only hand out free gold every 30 minutes - an hour on a couple buildings early on. hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,098 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #20 hellscaretaker, Jul 19, 2015 Last edited: Jul 20, 2015 Its clear you have not got as far as me due to the fact saying about the mine, there comes a point where you WONT need to spend gold on the mine to mine.
