I guess I have to check this out. From reviews on BGG it seems like the game is ok, nothing spectacular. iOS gamers seem to like deck builders, so maybe this will be a hit. I would have much rather had Legendary, Marvel or Alien. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #3 L.Lawliet, Jul 17, 2015 Art looks fabulous but I'm worried about it being free. But maybe it'll be like Ascension where you can just buy more add ons. Free + card game always worries me on iOS. Only iap seems to be a $1 expansion, consisting of 5 cards and a Grafting Lab? Don't have time to find out more at mo. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #9 sapphire_neo, Jul 17, 2015 Is there some pricing error here? There seems to be no reason why the base game should be free. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #10 L.Lawliet, Jul 17, 2015 Anyone have any impressions of the game? Any good? Offline single player mode or online only? Interesting $1 expansion but probably just for soft launch I suppose. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #11 sapphire_neo, Jul 17, 2015 The game is sort of interesting. Online play is using their servers, and seems to real-time only. OFfline single player mode is decent, but features only one base instead of controlling four. As for the DLC, the game is out in the US. Not much of a soft launch now... L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #12 L.Lawliet, Jul 17, 2015 Thanks for the reply. It seems like it's just so-so then? The description sounds really promising but I guess it really needs all 4 players for multi-player to shine. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #13 sapphire_neo, Jul 17, 2015 Last edited: Jul 17, 2015 It's an interesting twist on the deck-builder formula. And it might be close to Thunderstone in terms of execution. The major stumbling block here seems to be a lack of variety, there are only 8 type of troops, and they are locked by waves. So you use exactly the same set of troops in every game. The only change is the items, and even there the changes aren't major. The enemy units are varied but draw from a limited pool, and are similarly locked off by waves. The DLC adds a new division and 5 items but no new troops. I think this could become more interesting with expansions, but right now I can't see myself putting much time into it.
