Hope it don't ruin it as space miner is an awesome game florhackson Well-Known Member Nov 18, 2010 869 0 0 #9 florhackson, Jul 17, 2015 Been fun so far. You attack other bases like CoC, except you use your single spacecraft. But I have done a ton more pve then pvp. pretty decent with resources so far. eugekava Well-Known Member Jul 8, 2009 2,707 0 36 Melbourne, Australia #10 eugekava, Jul 19, 2015 I loved the original game... A LOT! I've been playing it again lately as well, after it received some graphics and content updates. Having said that, I really hope that this freemium game is not the " Space miner 2" that the devs have been talking about. So far the game is fun. The space combat is classic "space miner". Base building is classic PvP affair as well. The main hindrances are building and upgrade timers as well as nano fuel that regenerates over time. You need nano fuel to raid neighbouring sectors for resources. The twin stick shooter part of the game is fun. The rest is nothing to write home about. Like all similar games it is designed to encourage you to spend as much money as possible in a conflict of patience and greed. I would not spend any money on a freemium game even if it comes with Space Miner in its name. I will however buy the proper Space Miner 2 game the minute it comes out at a premium price. tekchic Well-Known Member Jun 5, 2009 452 29 28 Female Software Developer Phoenix, AZ http://www.tekchic.com #11 tekchic, Jul 19, 2015 Last edited: Jul 19, 2015 Original Space Miner: Space Ore Bust is my all-time favorite iOS game. Not sure how I feel about going freemium in a new one... hrnnngh. I'll try it when it comes out and hope for the best. Would love to see a new premium version with MFi support one of these days. I don't know if it's just me, but I keep wanting a moveable right v-stick. touchy85 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2015 1,616 1 38 #13 touchy85, Jul 19, 2015 Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Wilbair Well-Known Member Aug 13, 2009 207 11 18 #14 Wilbair, Jul 20, 2015 I love the orginal spaceminer i still think its the best ios game ever. I was hoping to play this game when it comes out but to bad that i live in europe and can't play this game. When is the release worldwide? beekeo Member Jul 9, 2012 9 0 0 #15 beekeo, Jul 22, 2015 Hi Wilbair, Where in Europe are you? we are extending the softlaunch to Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Netherlands today. Snotty128 Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2013 654 0 0 #16 Snotty128, Jul 23, 2015 Ive not played the original space miner, but this 'asteroids meets clash of clans' game certainly puts an interesting twist on the clash of clans clone formula. Im not sure where the monetization comes in, other than rushing timers etc ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 999 113 #17 ste86uk, Jul 23, 2015 So I've been playing for a few hours none stop as energy is endless at the start since you level up so much but it does have fuel you need to do missions which is attacking somebody or going out gathering ore. I guess the monetisation is in timer speedups as you say but so far I'm liking the game. No idea how it saves but it's syncs between my iPhone and iPad which is good. I find steering my ship a little difficult at times but mainly because you can't break, you have to thrust in small bursts to control it better. But I'm not use to playing any space miner games so maybe that's the usual? ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 999 113 #18 ste86uk, Jul 24, 2015 Anybody else playing this one yet? Snotty128 Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2013 654 0 0 #19 Snotty128, Jul 24, 2015 If you let go of the directional control then you slow to a stop. Its quite noticable in the tier 2 ship and makes a big difference to handling. Im really interested to see how the pvp meta game pans out, as you have full control over how you attack the base. The spinning turret is surprisingly dangerous ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 999 113 #20 ste86uk, Jul 24, 2015 I just got my tier 2 ship a few hours ago, which did you go for? For me it looked like the blue one was the same or better in every way than the other choice and the only thing that's worse is the fuel consumption. Although I can't use any of my mods on the new ship? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
