Quite enjoying it, but I do find I frequently end up in trouble because I accidentally swipe onto the wrong tile. It feels like it'd be nice if a move didn't register until you lift your thumb off the screen to prevent this (at least if this could be an option). Apart from that niggle, it's a really polished game and I've already played it for far longer than I should tonight. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #8 sapphire_neo, Jul 9, 2015 Last edited: Jul 9, 2015 This game is glorious. Misguided Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2009 2,346 19 38 #11 Misguided, Jul 9, 2015 Watched a video from pocket gamer that made me really nauseated every time they moved a tile. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #12 sapphire_neo, Jul 9, 2015 Games that feature screen shake or the wavy water effect in The Mesh can be a little disorienting to watch but are generally less so when playing them yourself. This is because whene you play you focus on specific locations on the screen that are designed to not be as distracting, whereas when watching you focus on the whole image. I'm sure if the water effect becomes a problem for many people the devs could add an option to disable it in an update. CreatiuLab Well-Known Member Feb 3, 2014 53 0 6 #13 CreatiuLab, Jul 9, 2015 Yes, you are right: if some people have a problem with it, it's a good idea to add an option to disable this effect. This wouldn't be very hard to do. Anyway, the people that tested the game so far said that they liked very much the visual effect and hadn't any problem playing. But we will keep an eye on it! We worked many weeks on this effect, we wanted it to be something special. This Mesh is inspired in the legend of the Jade Emperor, that tells the fable of the 12 animals of the zodiac. This animals had to cross a river to complete the race. That's because you also hear a water effect when you touch the Mesh and move your finger http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_zodiac#The_Great_Race Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #14 sapphire_neo, Jul 9, 2015 I'm going to post a full, very detailed review later, but for now this should suffice: * Minimalist mathematics puzzler * Very challenging, but the difficulty scales slowly * Lots of interesting tiles that can be activated to add some RNG to each run * An incredible amount of depth, sometimes the best option is to lose a tile or even a few and build yourself back later * Gorgeous presentation and wonderful soothing music, the whole setup reminds me of Zen Bound * Game saves your progress if it is booted out of multitasking, you can resume at any time All in all, this just might beat out Shooting Stars and Don't Starve as my favorite title of the week and will definitely be a GotY contender for me in an year that has been chock full of amazing games. It's a beautiful puzzler with genuine depth and it's ridiculously addictive, recommended for one and all. While i can't share the GOTW/Y thoughts (def not my genre), this brilliant simple, yet very addicting and challenging puzzler found a space in my heart...or brain. Maybe because i'm good at math, usually, though it's turning into a totally different story here the longer you survive. Did i just say i'm good at math...rofl. Lousy 28 points after one hour straight don't underline that, i guess. Maybe i shouldn't have turned the wheel of (no) fortune twice... Oh, and i like how it controls and looks at the same time. To all puzzler and "easy" math fans, if you're just slightly interested, it's already enough to give the Devs their well deserved two bucks for this gem. I keep coming back to it over and over despite having about 8 games on the go at the moment. I do love the water effect and don't find it off-putting during play. As sapphire_neo said, I think it's not an issue when you're in control. Just reached the monkey for the first time. Is there a way to view a gallery of the animals you've unlocked? If I am racing the clock, then I don't want this. Fingers crossed... sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #20 sapphire_neo, Jul 10, 2015 There are two level types that are timed, but you only encounter them every 20 or so levels.
