I tried it, it's so far pretty good other then the horrific bug. The horrific bug is the inventory doesn't work at all. No pictures yet supposedly stuff is there. Not even stuff you found but like all the stuff in the game. Fix it would you devs? It has the potential to be a sexy 22 year old in the shack up game instead of hunnybooboo mom. Elsa Well-Known Member Apr 7, 2015 653 0 0 Arendelle #4 Elsa, Jul 3, 2015 I don't think it has that much potential, but it has potential to be a decent little game. I really dislike having to play this in portrait mode. I also have no idea what the point of "power" is. You pick up skills that last a few seconds, shouldn't that alone determine what you can cast or not? Also, how do you even restore power? Those skills/power-ups are pretty bad themselves. They last a few seconds whether you use it or not and you also have no idea what they do. The game also has a lot of bugs. Some are minor (some graphic glitches, you can't pick up items if they drop into a wall), but some are downright game-breaking (levels are randomly generated and sometimes sections are sealed off. If the golden key is in that section, you're screwed). There's also the inventory bug that anabolicMike mentioned. Oh and what's up with not being able to save progress? AlexFromPanc New Member Jul 7, 2015 2 0 0 #5 AlexFromPanc, Jul 7, 2015 First off, thanks for checking out the game, folks! Sorry it took me so long to find this forum post; I don't know what I was thinking, honestly. I will say I'm committed to making the game better with your feedback. @anabolicMike, the inventory is actually meant to only hold permanent items, which can be purchased, with coins, from the in-game store. Sounds like I didn't do a great job of explaining that to our players, so I'll try to fix that in the next update and make this more clear. Do you think it would be better if you were able to collect the temporary powerups and equip/use them as you need? Let me know what you think about that. @Elsa, thanks for your feedback. I felt that the portrait orientation lent better the casual nature of the game. I am planning on a sequel in landscape orientation, which would actually be a full story-based roguelike with some procedurally-generated levels. It also sounds like I didn't do a great job of explaining the role of the powerups, either. They are intended to be randomly dropped to augment your attacks. The power meter increases as you attack enemies, and using the powerups decreases the meter. If you use an elemental powerup while your meter is full, a stronger melee attack is called that destroys all enemies within range. They are meant to last only a few seconds and then extinguish, as beta testing showed that having them stay permanently make the game too easy, and thus, not as enjoyable. If you were to give them a time limit, what do you feel would be a useful timeout amount? Should they be collectible as I suggested to anabolicMike above? To address the bugs you referenced, I felt it was part of strategy to have the powerups spawn away from you, so that you needed to make sure that you opened the chests into an open space. Regarding the sections being sealed off, the player could purchase a gold key from the store in order to escape the level. You can access the store from the pausescreen. I can certainly change this in the updates, to make this a bit more friendly. Getting to the save game issue, as a roguelike, I wanted to maintain the perma-death aspect. Do you think this is a huge detriment? Let me know your thoughts. So, TL;DR version: The bugs were meant to be mostly gameplay mechanics, but it sounds like I neither explained nor educated well at all, in order to communicate this to the player. I'll make those changes in future updates. Thanks again for checking out the game, and if you have any other suggestions, let me know so I can improve Segreta!
