Coming into this table, without knowing the game Portal and its characters, turns out to be a "disadvantage" for me. I played one hour straight, but i simply don't dig it, as well as the nudging. Also, none of the cameras satisfy me on my 5s, too small. But the un-creamy top are the buy-in tokens (3 for $1) to continue a game... Looks like i'm a conservative old pinball fart, stuck in the past with my fond memories of the real tables. Thank god we get them on ios these days. Even the worst/boring/oldest real ones (on ios) have more heart than any of these artificial ones...now bring the tar and the feathers syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #6 syntheticvoid, Sep 25, 2021 This is actually the first iOS pinball game that has hooked me. I haven’t tried the Adam’s Family one, but have tried a few other ZEN Studios titles.... none of them have hooked me like this. And while I have played, and immensely enjoyed the Portal games, I doubt I’d feel any different about this if I hadn’t. The table is designed incredibly well and the missions have just the right amount of clearly defined objectives, mind-numbing frustration and rushes of adrenaline and anxiety to keep me coming back failure after failure after failure after failure after completion and around again to try and tackle another one. I’ve never felt like the table was cheap or a lost ball was the result of the game screwing me over with a wonky physics decision or object placement. It’s always my own screw up. As for the continues, you can only use one. It’s not a ‘play as long as you can keep pumping money into the game’ type of thing that would wreak havoc on the leaderboards. They give you 5 for free, but I’ve gotten my best scores long after I had used those up. If anyone here does wind up getting this, I’d recommend saving them until you hit a score of at least 100,000,000. Or just plonk down another buck.... I’ve easily spent at least 13-15 hours with it, and as I haven’t been able to complete more than 2 of the missions in one game (and it having 6 plus the Glados battle) I know I’ll dump more than a couple more times that into it before I ever even think of trying to seriously dive into another pinball title.
