It was probably just another App Store glitch. I played for a bit. It's obviously a Triple Town clone but with one major difference. You don't get to choose where to place the blocks. They randomly fall like Tetris. This means you will probably run out of moves very quickly and start over. Your success is primarily tied to luck. Sure you can pay to delete blocks though when you are stuck. I like that it keeps track of your buildings and progress. You can also watch ads to have birds and things overlay on top of your game board. Worth giving a try but you will probably get frustrated quickly. guzzla Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze May 12, 2015 162 0 0 #12 guzzla, May 28, 2015 Last edited: May 28, 2015 Kind of reminds me of numbers in that you have to manage where you are accumulating high level buildings (same with the high number tiles). This also has a color matching element of course. Played 4 times and have gone population 40k, 223k, 254k, 372k. There is a lot more depth here than you think, building levels are unlockable up to 32. I was able to get a 13 in my last game, so I have a long way to go in that regard. My games are already taking at least 10 minutes already so I disagree about the short play time and also about luck. Sure there is some of it but you can mitigate block drops via sound strategy. I normally don't play games with ads but the banner isn't even really noticeable. Too bad there is no ad unlock IAP, I would have bought it anyway. I can see myself playing this one sporadically for a long time. I wish the grid can be bigger instead of using almost 1/3 of the screen as a buffer space for ads though. I'd pay for an ad-remove iap. guzzla Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze May 12, 2015 162 0 0 #14 guzzla, Jun 1, 2015 I keep chipping away at this game, played it a few more times over the weekend and got to 740,000 population. My continual progression is a good indicator that the game is driven by strategy and not luck. matyou98 Well-Known Member Jun 18, 2012 293 3 18 #15 matyou98, Jun 2, 2015 Downloaded this when it came out and just got around to playing it. Wow this game is cool. To repeat what has already been said, this game has a lot of strategy but is very simple in concept. The simplicity makes this easy to get into, the depth keeps you coming back. If you liked triple town and or threes, you will have a lot of fun with this one. Although the ads are not intrusive I would gladly pay an iap to remove them. Even though the game is free there is no iap or timers. Hope more people give this a try as it deserves way more attention than its getting. funem Well-Known Member Jan 11, 2014 276 0 16 #16 funem, Jun 3, 2015 I Forgot I had downloaded this and thought I would give it a try. Its good for a quick game and its frustrating as when you make a mistake you know its really down to you not the game. Its a perfect mobile game, would gladly pay to remove the adverts, though I don't see any of them as I generally play offline, but its worth paying for. I did have the occasion where some of the bigger buildings did not give the opportunity to match them, even though they were side by side, its only happened twice in about lord knows how many games so I'm OK with that. I think this would have a permanent place on my iPod. Nicola Salmoria Well-Known Member Jul 8, 2012 106 0 0 http://nontrivialgames.blogspot.com #17 Nicola Salmoria, Jun 4, 2015 You can't match buildings of level > 10! Only level 10 buildings can be merged, and the result is permanent. That's a very interesting twist since it means you need to plan things well in advance to make a high score. Essentially you need to fill the board with level 10 buildings as much as possible before merging them; and then repeat the process. It's like a cross between Triple Town and Bejewled... which sounds neither very fun nor very original, but works really well. I like that every game, ultimately, has a time limit, since the screen will fill up, even with perfect play (unlike TT, where the castles will blast off and clear the screen). I really like that every game over is treated as a victory, and that your top cities are saved. Even though there's quite a bit more randomness than in TT, my scores have been steadily improving, suggesting that strategy and skill are still paramount, as another poster wrote, above. The randomness is of the type you can plan for, and which a skillful player will manage better than an inexperienced one. A delightful gem; I'm glad update Monday alerted me to it, and the new IAP to turn off ads is just great. Thanks, Ryuji Kuwaki, and Touch Arcade! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
