Protect the Poundrok family while rescuing its adventurous son from the clutches of a high-flying pterodactyl. Junior Poundrok yearned to fly but not like this. Now his family must pile into its rockin’ Winnecavo to retrieve him while guarding against incoming stampedes of ill-tempered dinosaurs! Bad Dinos evolved from the creators of PlayStation and Xbox hits such as Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank and Sunset Overdrive. It fossilizes traditional tower-defense games by introducing a new gameplay mechanic that lets you pit your enemies against each other. Capture dinosaurs and unleash them to fight in strategic battles while you wreak havoc with upgradeable traps and turrets. Defend against the most feared dinos such as triceratops or the dreaded T-Rex as they traverse dynamically changing maps to destroy your mobile cave home. Bad Dinos also features stylized hand-drawn graphics and Jurassic snark inspired by classic cartoons and brought to life by acclaimed developer Insomniac Games. FEATURES - Capture ferocious dinosaurs and pit them against each other in strategic battles. - Defend your mobile cave home from packs of angry dinosaurs. - Hone your strategy as map terrain evolves. Do you have the stones to save the Poundrok family a midst constantly changing lava fields, tundra, marshes and more? - Rock bomb, blast and tar trap dinos while upgrading your defenses. - Unlock upgrades to enhance your dino taming and controlling skills. - Enjoy a cartoon-style story and lovingly hand-drawn stylized graphics from the creators of Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank and Sunset Overdrive. - Pay only once to play Bad Dinos! Only done the first few levels bt I'm loving it so far. It's like Kingdom Rush etc,by u can catch Dinos in a net and use them to protect ur base. Seems to have a story in the form of cut scenes between levels and the graphics are really polished(esp when zoomed in slightly). This would be very appealing to me based on the developer, the game type and the lack of IAPs, but thr theme and the music seem over cutesy to me. Come on Insomniac. A tower defense game? Really? slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #11 slewis7, May 22, 2015 I am not surprised that the game play is good. I just can't understand why a developer would make a strategy game, more suited for a mature audience, with a presentation style that would be more appealing to children. triggywiggy Well-Known Member Jan 24, 2010 4,353 2 0 Freelance writer, Student, Casually employed in re Perth, Western Australia #12 triggywiggy, May 22, 2015 Can't tell what this is by the preview photo's. Regarding art style, I like it. The fantasy trope is really played out IMO, even more than zombies at this point. I am not a fan of shows like the Family Guy and South Park, but these shows are typically aimed at grown men and women. To make a game in a cartoon art style geared at a mature audience is not a surprise. Not everyone likes realism and/or seriousness in their games. Dinos are a welcome change. To answer your question triggy, one thing is that you can capture the invaders and put them to use for defensive purposes. This is a pretty cool twist that I haven't seen before. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #14 metalcasket, May 22, 2015 God forbid Insomniac make something that caters to the platform exceptionally well. >_> Yes, it's a tower defense game, but how many can you count that are entirely premium experiences? spader623 Well-Known Member Jan 18, 2014 479 0 0 #15 spader623, May 25, 2015 Mayve they should make console games instead, or, crazy thought, something original. Too many Tower Defense games that employ either Freemium or Play-to-Win model. Good for Insomnaic for daring to be different. I started playing Crazy Kings right around the time this came out so it has been on my buy list, but that has been meeting my tower defense quota up til now. I am growing a bit tired of it though.
