LunarBowser Active Member May 5, 2015 26 0 0 #6 LunarBowser, May 8, 2015 Yeah, been wanting a new turn based game here myself. Will be checking this out when I get home famousringo Well-Known Member Jul 25, 2011 292 0 0 #7 famousringo, May 8, 2015 Hm, played a campaign last night and it has its ups and downs. Impressions: - Clearly the developer has a lot of passion for historical battles and some coding skill. Interactions were mostly smooth, the map scaling being a particular delight. - Presentation is a little basic, but pretty solid. - The stats, the unit types, the large unit movement... everything feels overdone to the point where I don't feel qualified to make any kind of strategic decision. Even the combat calculator seems largely incomprehensible. I just take my pre-arranged deployment, march my units up, attack units that show a larger orange bar than red bar, and hope I can crush the enemy's flank before they crush mine. -Unit movement is painfully sluggish, even with the fast forward feature. - Personal beef, slingers are underestimated as usual. Slings actually outrange bows, especially in this time period, and certainly have much more effective range than javelins. Like, by 150m. It's not bad, and I don't really regret buying it, but it's not the next great strategy game on my phone. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
