For my usual preferences this could have a bit too slow paced gameplay (i know, it's a submarine), but the underwater atmosphere completely sucked me in. Maybe their main focus is on multiplayer mode, but on their website is nothing to be found on the campaigns' length either. This hidden information in a description makes me only more suspicious instead of crying instabuy. Anybody knows more, already? NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #8 NOEN, May 6, 2015 I know their last game was similar. It was a submarine game with similar controls, but it was more "cartoony". It was a hidden gem to me. It didn't recieve that much attention, but those of us that did play the game, loved it. The devs were pretty active in the forums at the time also. If your on the fence, I'll be picking it up tonight and running through it. I'll try to leave some quick imps and then probably follow up with a "my 2 cents" video tomorrow after I put a little time into it. I reviewed the trailer and I'll be honest it looked action less. Looks more geared for multiplayer. They need an so skirmish mode! If the single player has action I will go for it. Billy VirtualBoyFreak Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Apr 26, 2011 4,801 85 48 Spain #11 VirtualBoyFreak, May 6, 2015 I agree with their previous game's opinions. I played it a lot too, and it was fantastic. The controls were great and spot on. My biggest problem/concern with that one was the length of some of the later levels, along with a feeling of doing always the same. Of course, controlling a submarine in an arcade game as this doesn't allow for much more, but it became a bit monotonous in the long term. This doesn't mean that it was a bad game, since I got a lot of hours worth of enjoyment from it, but I felt I was doing the same over and over (of course, Candy Crush suffers the same problem, if you understand what I try to say... ). I'd also like to know how long is the single player campaign, as well as how long do levels take to be finished. In the first game, you had to play the level through from beginning to end without the possibility of saving mid-level. My guess is that since this one was coming, there was no point in keeping the other. Something similar to what happened with XCOM: EU when XCOM: EW got to the App Store. The game description says "realistic submarine experience", so the "terribly slow" comment is kind of expected since submarines are not X-Wings and in all the films I've seen subs move very slowly. Why is it boring? Not enough variety? Poor AI?... Sorry? I picked the game up this morning. I'll give it a go and come back with some imps after a few runs. UPDATE: Alright. I gave it a quick go. The controls are just like their other submarine game. The left pad controls your horizontal movement and the right pad controls horizontal. Yes, it's a very slow game. It's supposed to be though. I like the realistic style of this one. You really have to keep an eye on the map to get anywhere. Even shooting a torpedo requires like 3 different steps before firing it off, so as far as the gameplay goes, I really like it. Now, the issues I had so far. First off, I was playing on an iPhone 5, so the map was a little tough to read at times. Nothing that I couldn't handle. I just had to squint to see enemies once in awhile, so no biggie. What I was having problems with, were the controls. With the game being slower paced, I wanted to take my thumbs off the pads at times and just swipe up/down or left/right when needed, but the pads weren't registering my swipes most of the time. I would end up swiping so much that my notification bar was popping up. Now, if you kept your thumbs on the pads at all times, everything worked well, but then my thumbs were covering the entire pad, so I couldn't really see how much power I was giving my sub. I'm sure I will find a balance once I play a little more, but that was a big problem I was having. My last concern was game length. I know it's a slower paced game and each level can take some time to get through, but from what I saw, there are only 7 missions. I'm not sure if more pop up later, but so far, it doesn't look like it. I'm just worried the game will be fairly short. As far as multiplayer, I only played one deathmatch game and crashed into a rock before I even could see my opponent on my radar. Take everything with a grain of salt right now. These are only my quick impressions of my first 30 mins or so of gameplay. I'll do a "my 2 cents" video later on after I "SINK" some more time into it. (Get it?? Damn I'm funny!) Anyway, just my 2 cents so far. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
