A group of prisoners are sentenced to certain death by exiling them to the secluded Mount Grimrock for vile crimes they may or may not have committed. Unbeknownst to their captors, the mountain is riddled with ancient tunnels, dungeons and tombs built by crumbled civilizations long perished now. If they ever wish to see daylight again and reclaim their freedom the ragtag group of prisoners must form a team and descend through the mountain, level by level. The game brings back the oldschool challenge with highly tactical real-time combat and grid-based movement, devious hidden switches and secrets as well as deadly traps and horrible monsters. Legend of Grimrock puts an emphasis on puzzles and exploration and the wits and perception of the player are more important tools than even the sharpest of swords could be. And if you are a hardened dungeon crawling veteran and you crave an extra challenge, you can arm yourself with a stack of grid paper and turn on the Oldschool Mode which disables the luxury of the automap! Are you ready to venture forth and unravel the mysteries of Mount Grimrock? - Explore a vast network of ancient tunnels, discover secrets and find a way to survive in the perilous dungeons of Mount Grimrock. - Cast spells with runes, craft potions with herbs and fight murderous monsters with a wide variety of weaponry. - Create a party of four characters and customize them with different races, classes, skills and traits. - Pure blooded dungeon crawling game with grid-based movement and thousands of squares riddled with hidden switches, pressure plates, sliding walls, floating crystals, forgotten altars, trapdoors and more. - Experience a real labour of love, created by passionate game industry veterans. A spectacular big screen experience, now on your iPad! The game works on iPhone 4 but iPhone 5 or a newer model is recommended to fully enjoy the Grimrock experience. These types of games aren't bad on transit lol Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #10 Dailon80, May 6, 2015 yep that sucks and it's not like this game can't work on a phone, epic fail. I don't see any reason to release ipad only unless it's just impossible for the phone and this one is not maybe one day it will in the meantime a bunch of good premium games are starting to get released! Even without the UI, you wouldn't notice all the small hidden switches at the size of 2-4 pixels, same applies to objects lying around or writings/signs on walls. Also, the UI needs to be on the screen constantly, so it would take away even more screen space which is needed for the dungeon. Some events in the dungeon also require quick reflexes and controls that work flawless. On an iPhone, even the iPhone 6+, you'd fumble around with the tiny controls and eventually be frustrated, because missing one key will result in walking/falling into a trap and that could always mean "game over". metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #12 metalcasket, May 6, 2015 I'll definitely be picking this up in a heartbeat. Dirt cheap, just 400 MB installed and....it's frickin' Legend of Grimrock!!! Hopefully it'll do well enough to turn universal and maybe one day we'll get the sequel too. kukulcan Well-Known Member Jan 4, 2009 351 0 16 #13 kukulcan, May 6, 2015 The day of the GRIMs - Rock and Fandango on one day...wohooooo!!!! badmanj Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2009 1,886 24 38 Software developer Reading, England http://www.underground-collective.com #14 badmanj, May 6, 2015 Ah this looks great! I also have this on my Macbook but on my iPad too will be wonderful. I agree with the earlier comment; some of the things you need to spot on screen would be WAY too small on a phone display. The devs would be inundated with complaints from irate phone users... so they'll lose either way ;-) If you want something to really moan about... why on EARTH is 'Grim Fandango' not Universal? It's showing as 'iPhone Only' currently... crazy. Bloodangel Well-Known Member Jan 19, 2011 1,824 46 48 Retail England #15 Bloodangel, May 6, 2015 Exactly!
