This does look interesting though. Crystal Siege is my favorite tower defense title mostly because of the balance between RPG and tower defense. If this has that much RPG in its mechanics, i might like it. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #5 L.Lawliet, May 1, 2015 Oh this tempts me. But f2p td sounds like a bad idea imo. I hope it's not a online only game that requires power ups or buying cards with cash because you can never get anything good, etc. Ayjona Well-Known Member Sep 8, 2009 3,295 21 38 Freelance journalist and writer, amateur musician Stockholm, Sweden #6 Ayjona, May 1, 2015 In this day and age, I guess we should be thankful devs at least use their own assets (Though this cynicism is actually counter to my general sentiment. I'm a firm proponent of Chair's Law ) I've yet to squeeze that recently Universal-ized gem onto my iPhone. Do tell me if Crazy Kings is anything similar, and I can jump from here to Crystal Siege. redribbon Well-Known Member Jun 11, 2010 2,799 53 48 entepreanur, programmer #7 redribbon, May 2, 2015 The Gameplay: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #8 Exact-Psience, May 2, 2015 Wow... Thanks for the gameplay vid RR. Looks like the mechanics of this game are really good, but the energy system seems to be in the way of enjoying. Can anyone who tried it check what the IAPs are? If there is a perma-unlock to remove the stamina system this could be something. redribbon Well-Known Member Jun 11, 2010 2,799 53 48 entepreanur, programmer #9 redribbon, May 2, 2015 @EP, youre welcome man, actually the game is quite fun even though the gameplay mechanism is similar to other well known TD. the energy system might be annoying but it will get you enough supply for the first hours without any paywall. btw, the IAP: bigrand1 Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2010 4,968 7 38 Geriatric Party Animal California, USA #10 bigrand1, May 2, 2015 TD? um, I'd actually rather see a game with attacking Mantis Shrimp! Couple of hours in and just hit the first time wall...no pay wall yet though so all good from me (as long as you don't mind playing in bursts) orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #12 orangecan, May 21, 2015 I've put about an hour into it and it does seem pretty decent so far - shame its freemium but I'm going to keep going with it till I hit the paywall because I'm enjoying it predator8u Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2013 94 0 0 #13 predator8u, May 21, 2015 Visually game looks great, saddens me to see that it's F2P. The freemium hasn't bothered me at all really and I'm not going to play for endless hours anyway just a bit here and there. The gameplay isn't unique, I mean there isn't a million of them with this exact model but it is very similar to a few other titles that come to mind. But overall I do recommend giving it a try if your interested. I'm not too far in but still looking forward to more. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #17 orangecan, May 22, 2015 Yeah I hate to use the phrase but so far this seems like freemium done right. I'm really enjoying this it's been a really nice surprise - not sure why it's not generating more interest thesinmaster Well-Known Member Aug 27, 2013 80 0 0 #18 thesinmaster, May 22, 2015 TD fans should try this, freemium is not the issue so far ( finished first world ) ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #19 ste86uk, May 22, 2015 Last edited: May 22, 2015 I agree it should be generating more interest, I hope it doesn't get skipped over. It has energy and some wait timers but I've always got something else to do or use in the game while I wait for something else with no need to spend. You couldn't play all day like you could with Kingdom Rush but I'm happy playing in chunks, I've never played long enough to run out of energy yet anyway. I need more friends on this though to use their hero in the tower but it seems to be only facebook friends so that's my only gripe as I don't add people to facebook just for games and got tired of keeping a seperate game fb Also why does it say softlaunch AU? I'm in the UK and its on my store. TraderJack Active Member Jul 4, 2014 29 0 0 #20 TraderJack, May 23, 2015 This is wayyyyyy better than i have expected. The F2P model in this game is very fair(if you dont mind too much about energy system). More people should try this out, the quality of the game is comparable to AAA TD like Kingdom rush, IMO. All in all, My new favorite TD game. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
