Only issue I had was figuring out the one tap controls for some reason. Once I figured it out though, it was a lot of fun. Uprising Elton Well-Known Member Oct 6, 2009 1,172 63 48 #3 Uprising Elton, Mar 31, 2015 Thanks, will be adding more new races, with more new race mode variations in the first update. Will also add a page of tips to help people get to a good level of control a little sooner The key is to master the timing and learning when to press and hold on the rear bumper of a car to speed match it safely... And don't forget to go back and complete goals on earlier races as you get better cars! Cheers! I'm really loving this game. Andre Well-Known Member Apr 11, 2012 3,643 2 38 #5 Andre, Mar 31, 2015 @NOEN: Thanks for your review. I'll check the game when it releases. I wanted to make something that has the simplicity of a flappy bird etc. but had a greater degree of skill and judgement, a basis for developing your ability, and most importantly, accurate collision that means the game "feels fair". I hope this is what people find the game to be. Have loads of content ideas for updates that will follow if the game does well, so please give it a go when it launches world wide on Thursday! Good to see players taking their first steps with the game. I'd point out that once you've come 3rd or better in a race, the next race is unlocked in the series, and you can progress through more varied races a little quicker than NOEN did in the video. (this is explained in some 1 time displayed messages in the game) The first 3 races are very short just to get players used to the game and collecting stars. But thanks for makng the video, a better tutorial is something we'll probably add. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #9 NOEN, Mar 31, 2015 Yea, it took me a few to figure out for some reason. Once I did figure it out, I was mad at myself at how simple it was. I guess with racing games, your so used to mashing your finger on the screen to accelerate. Uprising Elton Well-Known Member Oct 6, 2009 1,172 63 48 #13 Uprising Elton, Apr 1, 2015 Thanks! I expected a few people to ask about other control schemes, but then it wouldn't be Tappy Lap! (The engine behind TL is going to be used in a more traditional controlled arcade racer in the not too distant future though) ramon31 Well-Known Member Sep 4, 2011 843 0 16 Hortacultrist Australia #14 ramon31, Apr 2, 2015 This is great! Surprise of the week Uprising Elton Well-Known Member Oct 6, 2009 1,172 63 48 #15 Uprising Elton, Apr 2, 2015 Great to hear! Leaderboards are showing quite a nice number of players already L0ck Well-Known Member Jan 29, 2015 212 2 0 #16 L0ck, Apr 2, 2015 I'm enjoying the game quite a bit! But I don't understand the 'get 5 draft bonuses' requirement. Is there any indication when I get a draft bonus? Maybe that could be more clear. Uprising Elton Well-Known Member Oct 6, 2009 1,172 63 48 #17 Uprising Elton, Apr 2, 2015 There's no counter on screen, but each time you successfully draft an opponent and gain a place, a message appears. To get a "Draft bonus", you must follow another car so you go in excess of your regular top speed at the point you gain a place. A good draft and pass is very satisfying when you nail it But you can also get them while following a fast car (like a rival in that race type) and passing a different car too, so look out for oppertunities to do that. Once you get the control mechanic down you can really drive and make some nice maneuvers. This is a much "richer" version of the one finger Flappy type of game...
