Currently there is only one control scheme: tilt your device to move left/right tap buttons to control fishing rod and shoot lanterns... You've raised a very valid point I have to state that accelerometer is used to control ship somewhere in the game description Funny,..I never thought about this Thank you, klink! Or guys who come here to talk. I'll buy it after work! I don't like fishing but the graphics look very surreal and your here! So we can discuss Almakos Well-Known Member Mar 23, 2015 68 0 6 Male graphics designer, game developer Kiev, Ukraine #5 Almakos, Mar 25, 2015 Hey anabolicMike, correct that's my game =) Thank you for your interest. It does look a bit surreal and idea is to first light up fishes with lanterns and then using light as a bait catch small one and use it as bait to catch bigger and bigger fish. the longer chain - the higher reward. Every time you run level moon phase will change. If it is full moon there will be much more fishes. Next level after full moon is starfall mode where you have to avoid touching red stars and collect all orange ones Later you can unlock starfall mode to be played any time you want p.s. I just like calling them 'fishes' bigrand1 Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2010 4,968 7 38 Geriatric Party Animal California, USA #6 bigrand1, Mar 25, 2015 Really?! That's the FIRST thing I thought about! Not always a fan of tilt gaming myself. I'm downloading it 'cause I love fishing, especially ocean fishing! I like to try to catch fish bigger than me, and that's a pretty hard thing to do in real life! Artwork looks great from what I've seen here, hope the game play is up to par! Almakos Well-Known Member Mar 23, 2015 68 0 6 Male graphics designer, game developer Kiev, Ukraine #7 Almakos, Mar 25, 2015 Hey bigrand1! Thank you for your kind words I am happy you liked graphics and I hope you will enjoy playing the game as well It may seem a bit slow paced at first, but trust me it gets better. I've spent many many many hours polishing the controls, so hope you will find them easy to pick up. Though I have plans to add alternative controls without using the accelerometer as I understand not many people like it. Let me know if I can be of any assistance and have a nice day! I have watched the whole thing and it's a great joy to me seing others play On the other hand it immediately indicated couple usability fails on my side, which I will address right away. Quick advice #1 - be more generous with lanterns and try to chain-catch as many fishes in one go as possible. That will bring more cash and a higher chance to spawn bonus pickups. Quick advice #2 - in starfall mode don't let any of the orange stars to sink Thank you again for the gameplay video, it's been of great help! Shyft Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2013 129 0 0 #13 Shyft, Mar 26, 2015 So far I'm really digging this game. It's fairly simple, but there's a little more depth and strategy than meets the eye. Plus it's very zen and relaxing. I'd prefer the option to turn off the gyro control though and just use on screen directionals. I game late at night and don't really want to move my iPad all over when I'm winding down from the day. I fully recommend getting this game. I'd buy it even for the awesome app icon itself, art style is just amazing. But in the end it's about the game of course, so here are my thoughts. First of all, I'd appreciate if there was a screen rotation so I can have my home button on the right, I'm just used to play that way. It's not a deal breaker, I'm just saying I'd somehow expect that as a standard feature. Now, the game is great, visually stunning and incredibly polished. I'm not sure if I missing something or any description / help / explanation / guide is just not there, but I have no idea what those specific icons means. I know when I tap on them, but I'd like to know that before. For example, I almost reset my progress just because I didn't know what I'm tapping on. The next things are the upgrades. Or what is that exactly. I bought "something" for stars and other currency, it's now marked with orange star but I have no idea what that is or what's the point of doing so. I did it with the lantern and with the hook as well, but I see no difference. Also, many times I throw lanterns in the water, no fish appears. Is that a feature or a bug? My point is, I'm not even sure how to "get better" because mostly it's the same, I get a few stars and that's it. It happened just once the bonuses started raining from the sky and the water was suddenly full of fish, but how that happened? What did I do? I'd love to know what to do instead of trying and failing repeatedly. Also, probably the last question, are there any lives or why am I playing multiple times before the "bonus round" with catching falling stars? And if so, shouldn't be some sort of icon there to notify me about remaining attempts? I'm sorry for all the questions and complains, but the game really lacks any introduction or tutorial, or I missed it somehow. I guess when you spent so much time creating it, everything seems clear and feels natural for you, but for a new player it's just a big uknown territory to get familiar with. Anyway, the game's amazing despite of the previous questions, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it even more when I'll finally learn what I'm supposed to do there actually EDIT: oh, and one more minor complain: the ship looks amazing, it's clearly 3D and it's a shame there's no animation when it's changing directions. It just deserves to have full 3D animation (even if it was a few frames), I just find it somehow distracting. It just flips right now, like a paper. I'd love to see proper animation for changing directions. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #19 macplash, Mar 26, 2015 Gameplay-wise, I think I just learnt two things. Just confirm if I'm right. 1. Spoiler Making a combo is possible only when bigger fish "eats" the smaller one, not otherwise. If there's a small fish catched on the fishing rod, I can catch bigger one and make a combo. 2. Spoiler After two combos in a row there's a bonus star in a glowing circle falling from the sky. When I catch it, it explodes into multiple yellow stars. Is that correct? I mean, it's nice to uncover the game mechanics like this, but I'd still love to know what to do and how to do it right from the beginning fabianb Well-Known Member Nov 1, 2014 1,009 0 36 #20 fabianb, Mar 26, 2015 I read you are planning another control mode (with buttons for directions).
