BitStern Well-Known Member Jul 28, 2014 281 0 0 http://www.bitstern.com/ #13 BitStern, Mar 18, 2015 As far as I can tell, the controls are very similar to the Infinity Blade series, attack by swiping, block an attack, double tap to avoid a powered attack. You can powerup your sword with something called essence, which you can earn or buy for some dollar. Life/Healing stones can be also bought with essence. This is the IAP, you are asking for. Bloodangel Well-Known Member Jan 19, 2011 1,824 46 48 Retail England #14 Bloodangel, Mar 18, 2015 So it's a free roam with IB combat in it? Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #15 Exact-Psience, Mar 18, 2015 No free roam. Think more of the new Karateka, but the movement going automatically forward in between battles. You can swing your sword while running to pickup stuff along the way. The strength of this IB-esque title comes from its free flowing combat. In a traditional IB formula, you have to dodge, block and parry to get openings for you to be able to attack. In Stormblades, you can keep attacking and swipe in the correct direction to parry when you see the enemy about to strike an attack. That said, you need to stop attacking enemies poised to counter attack. Basically, it's more realtime than IB's pseudo turn-based battle system. It's really pretty fresh and fun compared to a more stat-driven IB title. This is more skill than stats as the stats part is a bit minimal here. As for IAPs, tis for the impatient. You can grind levels all you want as there isnt any energy system stopping you from playing. cthulhufan Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Sep 5, 2013 145 0 0 Systems Engineer Missouri #16 cthulhufan, Mar 18, 2015 Thanks for the detail, EP, I actually like that "free form combat" bit. Guess I'm just weird but the IB franchise didn't do it for me where something like Tainted Keep is right up my alley. Speaking of combat, of course, I know you said it isn't free roam but I think I'm going to have to get this one. geno11233 Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 1,054 0 0 #17 geno11233, Mar 18, 2015 How many powers/spells have you guys come across? sivad Well-Known Member Mar 28, 2013 641 1 16 #18 sivad, Mar 18, 2015 Thank you for this, and thanks to the dev for no stamina, I will be trying out. Super fast paced and a real challenge to your reflexes. Like how a lot of the enemies attack the instance you reach them. So far it's a really fair free to play game. Hopefully it doesn't get super hard on the later levels and you reach a paywall. But there is no timers or energy system so you can play to your hearts content. I haven't had this much fun on my mini 2 in quite a long time. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
