A BEVY OF UNIQUE BLOCK TYPES - Locked blocks are bolted to the floor. - Entangled blocks are bound by quantum forces. - Sleeping blocks won’t budge until you wake them up. - Sticky blocks glom onto everything. - Caterpillar blocks are linked, slithering along as one. - Hypno blocks make other blocks go to sleep. - Flip blocks are multicolored and roll around. MULTIPLE LEVELS OF CHALLENGE You can take the easy road and simply connect all like-colored blocks. Or, for an extra challenge, you can link blocks over the mysterious symbols on the ground to attain illumination. Either way, your brain will appreciate the challenge. Interesting new color palette. Misguided Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2009 2,346 19 38 #4 Misguided, Mar 4, 2015 Yup, been playing the first again in anticipation. Worth every penny. I was never a fan of the bonus gem on each level, but I like the idea of the runes in this one. touchy85 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2015 1,616 1 38 #5 touchy85, Mar 4, 2015 Game Impressions Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel ROGER-NL Well-Known Member May 21, 2012 4,030 340 83 Male Gamer. Misguided Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2009 2,346 19 38 #7 Misguided, Mar 4, 2015 Btw, so happy that the game supports landscape now. I wonder about the runes being hidden by blocks, though. Seems like it will be challenging enough without having to figure out and remember where they are. drelbs Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2009 11,200 7 38 #8 drelbs, Mar 4, 2015 Kieffer Bros.? I always feel wasting my time if there is not some competition going on too. I confess, I'm a leaderboard exhibitionist slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! TheGreatEscaper Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2014 1,025 22 38 #14 TheGreatEscaper, Mar 5, 2015 I was lucky enough to be a beta tester for this game. It's fantastic. Absolutely a masterpiece. Don't hesitate to get this: 160 carefully designed puzzles that have a surprisingly difficult secondary goal each, making, in essence, 320 puzzles, far more than your average hand-designed puzzle game will provide. I've played this for hours and hours and it continually surprises me with new ideas and creative solutions. Never before have I played a game of this length and difficulty that has not stopped throwing brilliant puzzle after brilliant puzzle. The magnum opus of all sliding games. If you liked blockwick, you'll love blockwick 2. If you loved blockwick, you'll be so obsessed with this game you might just forget to have a meal because of that one pesky block that you can't join up... An easy recommendation. Hardcore puzzle fans, this game is your savior. ROGER-NL Well-Known Member May 21, 2012 4,030 340 83 Male Gamer. THE NETHERLANDS #15 ROGER-NL, Mar 5, 2015 That is the only fault this game has IMO. I'd like to hear some imps. gaymerX Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2014 280 0 16 #18 gaymerX, Mar 5, 2015 Between this game and 'Cozy City', it's been a great week for puzzle fans. Loving both of them! y2kmp3 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,784 3 38 #19 y2kmp3, Mar 5, 2015 Last edited: Mar 5, 2015 I am a fan of Aqueduct. Did not play the original Blockwick. Very ambivalence about this game. There is a lot of polish there, no doubt. Not sure if the game is merely a more complicated version of sliding block puzzles. Almost all of the mechanics have been done elsewhere, including tandem blocks, locked blocks, and so on. For simple sliding block puzzles, the game has basically been solved, and auto solver are available with various degrees of efficiency. The added objective of aligning the blocks on top of the symbols is the most interesting one, and is the one that enticed me to purchase this game. It greatly reduces the number of possible solutions and gives a direct objective for the player to position the blocks. I am still early on in the game, but I am finding myself solving each level by simple random trial and error until the blocks I want are closer to their desired location. I can't see any good strategy to systematically work toward a solution. Reminds me of Quetzalcoatl. I feel that I am just solving the puzzles "randomly" rather than with skills. Am I looking at this puzzle game from the wrong perspective? scott997 Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2015 93 0 6 #20 scott997, Mar 6, 2015 I am wondering the same thing. I really like these types of games so I bought Blockwick 1 to start at the beginning. After the first 3 chapters I'm not as excited about the game anymore. It seems like a lot of just moving small blocks around. Maybe this is partly because you have to move each block individually instead of blocks as groups. The puzzles seem more tedious than interesting or challenging. Is Blockwick 2 any different? A similar game where I don't get this feeling is CrossFingers (really like this one). The mechanics of the game are such that you can move multiple blocks around at the same time. CrossFingers also just had an update. How does Blockwick 2 compare? Any other sliding puzzle recommendations? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
