It all looks good and it's funny. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #6 NOEN, May 28, 2015 So, I've played the first 20 minutes or so. Pretty much just got through the tutorial and got my bearings straight. So far I'm digging it. It looks like this is going to be a lot to do in the game from looking through the menus and map. The artwork is done really well. Very cute. It has a nice soundtrack too. Like the background music in cartoons. Controls are pretty much just tapping so far, so no issues. Looks like there will be a lot of collecting and upgrading and opening stuff up, which of course I love. Of course it's F2P, so there's dual currency and timers. I can't tell how bad the timers will be right now because like all F2P games in the beginning, the timers are super short. Anyway, so far, so good. I'll be keeping this on my phone for awhile it looks like. I'll chime back in if anything really changes. kenken11 Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2012 1,808 5 38 #7 kenken11, May 28, 2015 This look interesting Cirnol Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2012 188 0 16 #8 Cirnol, May 29, 2015 This game has been pretty great! There's a lot going on and a lot to check up on at times. I did have to start over because I realized I was using up my premium currency when I didn't have to. Luckily I wasn't that far in and now I'm back up to speed and richer than ever. The concept is interesting since you turn other kids into toys that look a lot creepier when they walk around the street. I like the animations played out and the world is lush, bright and colorful. I'll definitely have it around for a while. My only complaint is that it's really easy to spend the premium currency (candy) without realizing there are different ways to get things. But no biggie. snow_mani Well-Known Member Oct 20, 2008 1,186 18 0 Melbourne, Australia #9 snow_mani, Jun 1, 2015 Last edited: Jun 1, 2015 Hmmm, I'm now a level 9 and made a small IAP purchase yesterday. I'm now regretting this as I don't think I'll be playing for much longer. This morning one of the existing kids in my city now requires me to spend candies to have them join my team and have them continue playing with the toys I make. It will not be a one time thing either. There are a range of options and how many days they will be on my team depends on how much IAP candy I'm willing to part with (I am not willing to part with any for this purpose). This sudden requirement to spend IAP to have kids in the city play with toys I create (the whole point of the game is to create different toys and have the kids play with them) feels very greedy on the part of the devs. It comes on top of an already IAP heavy game, and it comes on top of a lot of restrictive timers in the game. Not only are there small timers built in as you very slowly move back and forth through the city, and slowly catch up to kids to give or retrieve toys, etc, there are timers on the kids playing with toys that increase considerably and fast, and there's also timers on kids who need to rest for 4 or more hours between playing with toys. Kids only play with certain types of toys which restricts options significantly if you suddenly introduce a system where some of them won't play unless you spend IAP to unlock them or "have them join your team". I'm posting this as a warning to other players to be aware that this requirement is part of the game. It wasn't when I started playing. And in case you think I'm overreacting about this, then you should know that I'm posting about this because this morning it was one kid, and this afternoon it is now TWO kids who will no longer play with toys I create unless I use IAP to have them join my team. They are both the first two kids I had in my city at the start of the game. I'm guessing that by tonight or tomorrow the third kid is also going to need ongoing IAP to join my team, and so on. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #10 NOEN, Jun 1, 2015 Yea, I've been noticing something screwy going on too. My gripe is that the toys cost money AND candy to make and then you only get money back after a kid plays with it. In the beginning, it wasn't bad because your leveling up quick and passing missions pretty fast, but now I'm down to only a few candies and I won't be able to make anything after my next toy. I figured I was just playing the game wrong or something at first. I will say the game IS fun. There's a lot to do and a lot to open up, it just seems odd to make the premium currency so mandatory in this game. I'll plug away a little more and see what happens. I just have a feeling I'm going to be hitting a paywall soon. Cirnol Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2012 188 0 16 #11 Cirnol, Jun 1, 2015 This was my exact problem at the beginning until I remembered you're supposed to order each part individually by clicking on them in the catalogue. I did end up starting over but it was worth it to keep all the candy. Also in my case, candy is really easy to come by now since you eventually get the option to watch ads to get 3 candies and can get 30+ very quickly. FeRoWe New Member Feb 10, 2011 2 0 1 #12 FeRoWe, Jun 1, 2015 If you dont want the kids to join you, you just have to click on later ( or something like this, i do not remember exactly). This way you can just give them toys as before. I do not think the timers are that bad. If it weren't for them, you would push through the game very quickly. This way you can play it in small bursts. Also, i think the game gives candies (the premium currency) very freely. Cars drop them occasionally and you can get a lot of them by watching ads. tou really do not need them at wall if you are patient enough. If you are not, well it is F2P, that is just the way they make money. But unlike in other F2P games you can access all parts of the game without having to spend the premium currency. That in itself makes this game stand out for me from most of the other ones. Cirnol Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2012 188 0 16 #13 Cirnol, Jun 1, 2015 Yup, I totally agree. There is 0 reason to spend anything. This game gives out candy like it was...uh, candy. Watching ads gets you so much in so little time. You can quickly get enough to hire a kid for 10 days and essentially keep them forever if you get more candy quickly. And yes, one can always say you want to hire them later and they will revert back to toy wanters. They will keep asking though. I'm thankful for the timers here because I spend hours sometimes in a session to fill requests and so forth. I'm really into it! NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #14 NOEN, Jun 2, 2015 Ooooooooh! So you don't have to spend candy if you buy the toy part by part? That changes a LOT then. Thanks!!
