It's sharp, very well written, and you're never quite sure what the cast of characters are going to do next." 8/10 - Pocket Gamer "From experiencing heinous crimes daily to having to constantly stay on guard to budget issues that directly impede your ability to properly do your job, my time with The Detail was an experience I won’t soon forget." Great: 4 out of 5 stars - Gamezebo "No matter how you slice The Detail, it’s just a well crafted experience that will leave a lasting impression." 4.0 / 5.0 - AppleNApps ======= The Detail, a crime noir adventure in a modern American city. Controlling the actions of a bitter veteran detective investigating a brutal gangland murder and a reformed criminal trying to protect his family, the player is forced to make tough choices and deal with the resulting consequences of those moral dilemmas. The gameplay focuses on branching narrative mixed with interactive comics, and is completed by a professional audio track. The Detail combines the emotional impact of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead with the themes of a realistic crime drama like HBO's The Wire, delivered with our own unique visual style inspired heavily by graphic novels. This is city where cases matter, clearance rates matter, and on a good day even justice matters. Features - Character-driven experience with multiple playable characters - Branching storyline influenced by the player's choices - Mature themes for mature players - Ethical and moral challenges Awards & Recognitions "Game Connection America Selected Project Finalist 2014" San Francisco, 2014 "Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival Official Selection" Strasbourg, 2014 Information Seller:Rival Games Ltd Genre:Adventure, Role Playing Release:Feb 04, 2015 Updated:Jan 18, 2017 Version:2.0.2 Size:1.9 GB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating: (5) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #2 sapphire_neo, Feb 4, 2015 I was sold on this the moment they name-dropped The Wire, but I'll still wait for a few impressions to pull the trigger. PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 3 0 Norwich, England #5 PeteOzzy, Feb 4, 2015 Yup, it's one of a huge torrent of PC ports we've had recently. Reviews have been very familiar if you played TWD, TWAU or any other Telltale acronym. Effective, well-told, slight repercussions for you actions and a great soundtrack though slightly short and you have to wait for the whole story. Graphically though, it's fantastic. Can only see it being improved when played in your hands with headphones on. mzinn Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2014 770 0 16 #6 mzinn, Feb 4, 2015 Last edited: Feb 4, 2015 Looks like a must have at 11pm for me Edit Cool out in US now. The more people that are playing episode one only help drive their commitment to more episodes. If at the end there are no more episodes. I'm happy with the $5 I spent & time I enjoyed with the game. Just my 2 cents.....or $5 bucks FivepastTA Well-Known Member Oct 18, 2012 49 0 0 #13 FivepastTA, Feb 5, 2015 Unresponsive controls, poor writing, sound problems and one repeatable game-stopping bug about ten minutes in. First impressions not good. Ghostdog1 Well-Known Member Jan 30, 2015 319 124 43 #14 Ghostdog1, Feb 5, 2015 Game Impressions I really like the style of this game. But the game mechanics are very poor and the game is damn short (about 2 hours). I have no problem with this lenght in a telltale game, cause its like a movie. But "the detail" is more a mix of old school adventure and comic book and this is not enough to make me feel satisfied. I also played this game two times to find out, if any of my decisions are changing the story. In the first playthrough i took a very smart?diplomatic approach and in the second i played a total badass. Result was, that the story and every plot was still the same. There are moments in which you can find a different solution for a puzzle, but nothing will change the story. Really disappointing game. Had so much hope for a nonlinear story line. tZZZuKKa New Member Feb 6, 2015 2 0 0 #15 tZZZuKKa, Feb 6, 2015 Hi FivepastTA, As a member of the development team, I'm sorry for any bugs you might have encountered. Because there are no sounds effects in the game, they are all made with either music and comic style sfx effects. coccodrillo Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2012 51 0 0 #19 coccodrillo, Feb 7, 2015 Last edited: Feb 7, 2015 I do hear music.
