Assuming it translates well to touch controls then this is as necessary as Tilt to Live and Boson X in my mind. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #3 metalcasket, Jan 28, 2015 Damn you, Pete. PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 3 0 Norwich, England #4 PeteOzzy, Jan 28, 2015 Ha! Always one of my favourite reactions People here have made me spend a fortune, only fair to repay it now and then! I've had my coffee now so hopefully I can give some better impressions of the PC version in preparation of playing this later. It's like Asteroids mixed with Euro Truck Simulator, which made more sense in my head than it does on paper. Instead of commercial supplies though, your vehicle is hauling pure destruction irresponsibly tethered and flailing in your wake. Using very simple twin-stick shooter style controls (with only the single stick mind you) you use gravity to wield the "mace" to fend off asteroids and various foes. It's beautifully simple but not overtly so; you'll pick up new maneuvers like shielding yourself inside the weapon or light pushes forward to lunge like you're fencing. It's elegant and balletic, at least once you've mastered it - it's a flailing mess of chaos before then but that's also part of the fun! There's a huge amount of content in the PC version, even when it was in Early Access. I don't know how much has carried across but it has the mission mode which was my highlight. Each session offers three different challenges that change as you complete them, ranging from not killing anything for 30 seconds to surviving in a set, and moving, perimeter. It's wonderful and like I said, if it's as good as the PC version, then I have no problem telling anyone to buy it immediately. killercow Well-Known Member Apr 8, 2009 3,784 3 38 https://twitter.com/killercow #5 killercow, Jan 28, 2015 That quote should be in the App's description metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #6 metalcasket, Jan 28, 2015 The game's a frickin' blast, and yes...it does contain the mission mode, which I can say in 15 minutes of play is instantly addictive. It's awesome being able to switch between high-score chasing and missions without being committed to either at the same time. This game's good. REALLY good. Oh, and even with Pete's initial post pushing me over the edge, I'll gladly support any developer that takes the time to add a Colorblind Mode. blue rocket Well-Known Member Nov 27, 2013 541 0 16 #7 blue rocket, Jan 28, 2015 just grabbed it, pretty sick! For an arcade, high score gamer such as myself, Particle Mace is sheer WIN and a must-buy for anyone even remotely interested. I, like Carter, can see myself playing this and chasing those high scores for quite some time. People seem to like one or the other, and I am definitely in the latter camp. H4nd0fg0d Well-Known Member Mar 30, 2010 1,905 0 36 #15 H4nd0fg0d, Jan 28, 2015 Enjoying this immensely. After mostly playing Easy and a couple games on Hard, I went to check out the Asteroid mode and discovered there's a Story mode too. Awesome! This is shaping up to be my GOTW. Still getting used to the controls on my iPhone 5, I think I might try it on the iPad when I get home and see if I like that better. @Rich - I'm still not seeing you on leaderboards.
