There does appear to be a lot of ships and equipment and I keep seeing new stuff. IAP appears to be for crystals or gold, gold is the main game currency and crystals are the main currency on the black market but most almost everything on the black market can also be bought with gold, it's just very expensive. The only items on the black market that can not be bought with gold are space stations, space stations appear to only be for purchase with crystals. I am having fun with the game, there is a lot going on in the game to keep you busy. I really like the fact that it takes place in our solar system and not some fictional solar system. There are some space stations and planets that have shops where you purchase new ships and equipment. There are also some space stations that have other shops where you can upgrade your ship, get a mining license, and sell minerals. Louis Ace Well-Known Member Apr 4, 2013 117 0 0 #11 Louis Ace, Jan 13, 2015 Well because you're having fun, I'll take the plunge and purchase this game. I'll post my impressions in a little. Louis Ace Well-Known Member Apr 4, 2013 117 0 0 #12 Louis Ace, Jan 13, 2015 After playing for about 15 minutes I can say this game is pretty rough around the edges. The few combat sessions I have completed were very stale and boring. The combat is kind of like FTL where you choose a weapon and where to target that weapon. You also maneuver your ship with an unreliable joystick (or by double tapping which isn't that great either). There are several spelling errors which doesn't help my already negative first impression. Also, after completing the tutorial, I can say that the customization doesn't seem that deep. The only redeeming feature (for me) is the sleek visual style that blends 2D and 3D. I will post more of my thoughts after spending more time with this game, because after all, I've only played with it for 15 minutes. kst Active Member Jul 16, 2011 26 0 0 gamedev #13 kst, Jan 13, 2015 Hi everybody! I'll try to post impressions after I get to play more, but at the moment I'm very happy with what I see. Below you can find a few notes from my experience with this and other similar games: - Space Story, Ultraviolet Dawn, Space Trader, Flatspace (this last one removed from App Store several months/years ago) are games that come to my mind when playing PlanCon. - There are story missions, side quests and trading elements, as well as space battles. For the trading, I saw there's a brief as to how much things cost in each planet, so that you can plan where to buy and sell. - I find controls acceptable. I use virtual sticks. The ship moves a bit slow, but I'm afraid it has to do with the ship being crappy (i.e. I need a better ship) than with the controls themselves. - Dual currency: as someone mentioned earlier, there's gold and crystals. I've been checking the prices and everything except space stations seem to be purchasable with both currencies. I think I read in the tutorial that you get 1 crystal per mission accomplished, so knowing this and that space stations are only acquired with crystals but the rest can be bought with gold too, I'd say IAP are completely avoidable. So for one, no "hidden freemium" here at all, IAP are just to accelerate what you can achieve just by gaming. Therefore, in a few words, if you like space trading games with a bit of arcade action, I think you'll feel just at home with this one (and IMO it can't be compared with anything in FTL, they are completely different games with space as the only common point). On a side note, if anyone has a Nokia S60v3 or S60v5 laying around in a drawer, you should give the game "Stolen in 60 seconds" a try. You think this one is worth it or is there something else out there a little better? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
