Hi there, it has been quite a while since the release of Shadow Vamp... And some things have changed. Starting with only my musician Moritz and me, Gamesmold has now become a team of five people! So please welcome Sarah, Stefanie and Dennis, I guess they will probably show up in these forums, too. In early 2014, we started working on a big runner project (that is still in the works), but then we came across a very simple but addictive experimental puzzle concept. This experiment grew bigger and bigger, and after a few months of intense work on two games simultaneously, Zoo Turn was born! Featuring fluffy animals and a unique rotation puzzle concept. Originally, we've been aiming for a summer release, but somehow, it took us a little bit longer... Now, we know that this isn't the typical christmas game stuff, but we simply didn't want to wait any longer, so here you go... Check out this really tricky (and furry) puzzler: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Zoo Turn Gamesmold - Rated 5/5 by App Goodies: "funny atmosphere and beautiful, detailed environment"! - GGS Gamer.com: "a unique puzzle ro… Free Buy Now Watch Media Details- Rated 5/5 by App Goodies: "funny atmosphere and beautiful, detailed environment"! - GGS Gamer.com: "a unique puzzle rotation concept" "rendered beautifully in realtime fur" Let's twist some fluffy animals! Discover a weird zoo full of tricky rotation puzzles. Turn the necks, bodies and trunks of these lazy creatures to move them close enough to their goal. But beware - always keep an eye on the energy level! And if your animal turns out to be too short, you better find a way to make it grow... Featuring 210 challenging levels and extremely fluffy realtime fur! Truly one of my favorite devs, and now have expanded their roster! Im pretty sure the mechanics on this one will be highly unique and innovative, much like all their releases. Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #3 Exact-Psience, Dec 13, 2014 The mechanics are, as expected, genius! Then the visual style is really good with high quality textures, and the gameplay is pretty challenging, and in some way funny. Twisting and turning joints is the main mechanic, to do what needs to be done, from putting the animal's head on food so they could eat, or by playing around with the joints to pop bubbles and whatnots. Im sure there's going to be more of these objectives as i go farther. Depending how fast you clear each stage nets you up to 3-stars. Earning enough stars unlocks succeeding animal packs (level packs). Alternatively, you can buy the animal packs through very reasonable IAPs. The only flaw i can see with the game is in the controls, where sometimes im fumbling as to which direction im twisting the joints into, which could significantly affect completion times. Fortunately, shifting camera angles can remedy this, but im hoping maybe the controls can be tweaked up a bit to make it easy to complete twists and turns without much camera view manipulation. Overall, im really liking the game. This is another great release from Gamesmold. Unique mechanics, good visuals, nice sound effects (the burps do feel very satisfying after you've fed them ). The controls to twist to certain directions can get tricky, but changing camera views easily fix it. One of the best IAP schemes i've seen (consumer point of view), but i hope people do buy animal packs instead of cheaping-out and just playing the entire game for free (because you can). These are devs that easily deserve my money, and your money. Love it ! As EP says, Gamesmold is a no brainer for me, too. I didn't play it yet (dl at the moment) and weather i will like it or not, i'll spend some coins, no doubt. I want them to continue developing games. Oh, and i'm very curious with what kind of runner you will surprise us again. Blood Roofs is still in my Top 3 of all times. Any little info leak, Thomas ? Edit: bought "unlock all" for your support. Since i have a very bad stereoscopic vision, this game will be played in "thousend" little sessions, what is absolutely not my typical gaming behaviour, and probably much easier played on ipad mini and up, my guess. In a good way. The graphics are gorgeous. Very unique puzzle game for sure. I found it when I was looking through my friends list to see what everyone was playing. I noticed EP, Rich, and sink were playing so I came here to check it out. Then I read Qwertz post about Blood Roofs. I was late to the iOS gaming scene so I missed that one, but holy crap, what a sweet run-n-gunner that is! Wow. Blown away! Bought the $2.99 coin pack to get rid of the ads and buy some upgrades. Back on topic - does buying the animal packs in Zoo Turn disable the ads? Great job Gamesmold! Gamesmold Well-Known Member Dec 11, 2010 145 0 0 #7 Gamesmold, Dec 14, 2014 Wow, thanks for the great feedback! And especially thank you EP for your the great summary! Yes, of course. Each purchase removes all ads. Again, thanks for playing! It is such a pleasure to work for/with Thomas and I'm really looking forward to all things that are coming. He is a great leader and mentor, he provides us big freedom and we are deeply involved in every state of the development. It is great! So enough candy for you Thomas, let's get serious! Thank you redribbon for the gameplay video! Also, silly request, but given that these animals have great expressions as they are, having a wobbly, stick-on-eyes addon would make this hilarious! Just sayin'. Gamesmold Well-Known Member Dec 11, 2010 145 0 0 #12 Gamesmold, Dec 18, 2014 Thank you very much! Great to hear you like it. The game can get very tricky with many segments and we were wondering if it might get too difficult here and there. But if you manage to find out some basic concepts in the gameplay system, it's doable. Pretty much like with a Rubrik's Cube... GamesmoldDennis New Member Dec 15, 2014 2 0 0 #13 GamesmoldDennis, Dec 18, 2014 Uh, I like the idea with the wobbly stick-on-eyes. I think physically correct wobbling would be hard to implement though. Next christmas we should add christmas hats, with some nice wobbling tips Gamesmold Well-Known Member Dec 11, 2010 145 0 0 #14 Gamesmold, Dec 18, 2014 Sorry @Adsinjapan, totally forgot to address your wobble-suggestion! Yes, that's a great idea! I think we can create a good realtime wobble effect with the right coding. These things are much easier to achieve with some coding tricks than using the native physics (that would probably need too much calculation time, as Dennis said).
