Wrote a review complimenting the minimalist gameplay on the UK appstore as sinagog. Did get about ten Gray's Anatomy ads in two minutes, though, which seems pretty excessive. Might want to balance the ad quantity out if you don't want to scare off potential players.
I will check into that. It only should request a fill from iAd once every 10 gameplay or 60 seconds. Which ever is less.
I must say that I main focus with this contest is to receive honest feedback, not necessarily app store reviews. Please be honest. Is the game too hard? too easy? Graphics to dull?
I found the game too minimalistic for my taste. And also too hard. By too hard I mean that it seems like it's really based on luck as to when the bouncing balls decide to go up and down. Sometimes you can let yor ball go side to side without touching it at all and other times it's luck that a ball doesn't decide to change direction. Maybe have the backgrounds change when you get to certain scores to add a little feeling of achievement and spicing up the game a bit? Balls change color as well as your score increases to add some extra level of intensity? All in all, I have to be honest and say there didn't feel anything in the game to grab me and make me want to play more unfortunately. I couldn't find anything to addict me to the game. I do thank you for the contest and hopefully don't take my comments too harshly. Just one man's opinion
No, this is the exact type of honestly I'm looking for. Did you say if you tap the ball didn't change directions? it should?
No, I figured that out. Maybe the spacing from the balls that go up and down isn't enough but I found it extremely difficult to successfully change directions and avoid balls. It's like there isn't enough room to move left/right when the up/down balls are so close together. Does that make sense?
You may also want an info/help button in case people don't realize they can change directions of the ball... I wouldn't be surprised if some don't figure it out and think it's just about watching the ball cross at the right time..
Played it after the update, although it's a minor one, seems pretty better. Please if possible. Would like to see some new themes as in new colour of balls and background will really be awesome. Thanks.
There are two days left to leave your feedback. Thanks to those who have left their feedback thus far. I have taken your advice to heart. Im currently working on a newer version that will include themes, better instructions, and an arcade mode. An Apple TV version is also in the works. These updates will be released early-mid January. Changes in 1.0.6 include: - Reduced ad frequency - Graphic revisions - Tap direction timing. - Other bug fixes. Ray
It's nice to see a developer take the feedback of players to heart and aim to improve their apps. You don't see that very often. After playing numerous apps over the years, I must say my expectations for good apps is a lot higher than it was in the past. But every dev has to start somewhere and can improve from there! I personally found the app a little too simple. There are already quite a bit of similar apps in the appstore already. You need to make yours stand out from the rest. Like someone else already mentioned, clearer and more detailed instructions is important. I was confused at first when I was playing, which made me lose interest faster. I'm glad I read that one post later than you can change the direction of the ball. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have known about that possibility. It's good to have a fast-paced game, but on smartphone screens, it's important to think about the size of the screen as well for your game. I'm lucky cause I have rather thin fingers (if that makes sense lol), so I was able to maneuver around the game okay when playing. But my friend that's a guy with bigger hands, had more difficulty in that. Perhaps, try adjusting the size of the ball? Overall though, I think your app has a lot of potential. Looking forward to those tweaks you mentioned, so I'll keep the app on my phone. Update us when you release the update in Jan, and I'll give it a go again Thanks for the contest and best of luck on the app!
