The first was a bit simple and short, but very fun. They really improved the second installment a lot compared to the first. At the beginning it looks quite much the same but they've added many many more options such as new characters, spells, spell trees, endless dungeons and the such to keep you involved. Very solid game! And a must have for old school m&m fans. I'm in the credits on both (; jgainsbrugh Well-Known Member Aug 8, 2013 116 0 0 #8 jgainsbrugh, Dec 3, 2014 I have beta tested this and must say it is totally excellent! Enjoy y'all. If you have played the first one then you will be very much inclined to enjoy the second one. It has a lot more to offer than the first one. You can use spells, there is a skill tree now for your hero, and there are little dungeons that you can run (as far as I can tell) endlessly. I know I've ran the first one well over 20 times. It gives you an option for extra cash for troops and weapons that I don't think the first one offered at release. If you are a fan of HoMM then you will be sucked in like I was at first sight. That was what initially got my hackles raised when I saw the first one in Beta. I was actually quite pleased after playing it at first. Kind of took me back a little. This second one IMO knocks out the first one. To those who played the first one, the beginning looks much the same but after that it changes as you will see. More and more open up option wise and ability wise. The gameplay is still "linear" so to speak but there is an option that you can join something or not...There is an achievement for doing it both ways if you're one of those achievement types If you have any more questions about the game I would be happy to try and help you. No I am not a developer but I have been in close contact with them through Braveland:Warrior and Braveland:Wizard. They are upstanding folks. P.S. This is purely my opinion and you can agree or disagree Wisely Well-Known Member Jan 24, 2013 160 0 0 #12 Wisely, Dec 4, 2014 For those who had participated in the beta, how long is this game supposed to last? Are there many types of monsters? Didn't see many in the screen shots and videos so far. toptrops Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2014 269 0 0 #13 toptrops, Dec 4, 2014 Game Impressions Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel defunct32 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2013 254 0 0 #14 defunct32, Dec 5, 2014 Saw the gameplay video but (correct me if I'm wrong) the battles look simplistic with little to no strategy? I love SRPG (emphasizing on strategy) is this game very straightforward in terms of battles? I have not played the first installmemt but I love magic so I'm more interested in this one. Syro Well-Known Member Aug 7, 2013 120 0 0 #15 Syro, Dec 5, 2014 Can anyone compare this to Heroes: A Grail Quest? playpanic Active Member Feb 27, 2013 42 0 0 #16 playpanic, Dec 5, 2014 It's not kind of Final Fantasy Tactics game because the battles is shorter, you can't equip your warriors (except of hero) and so on. But actually it's like as King's Bounty or Heroes of Might and Magic with 2d-graphics and without castles. Story-based game. I think it's nice fit mobile because the game session can be 5 minutes. Really can't play Clash of Heroes on my iPad because of that. playpanic Active Member Feb 27, 2013 42 0 0 #17 playpanic, Dec 5, 2014 Last edited: Dec 5, 2014 Heroes: A Grail Quest is pretty similar to Braveland Wizard. But Heroes actually has no story and focused on hardcore - no pain no gain style. Braveland Wizard is more about fun, story and strategy experience. If you play Kingdom Rush - you understand me. playpanic Active Member Feb 27, 2013 42 0 0 #18 playpanic, Dec 5, 2014 Hey, thanks, man! You really help us polish both games. defunct32 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2013 254 0 0 #19 defunct32, Dec 5, 2014 Thanks for the reply! I believe my original message was misleading when I said "emphasized on strategy" haha, I mean I wasn't expecting FFT level of strategy but what I fear is how easy abd repetitive the game will be and if it's just a matter of tapping here and there, win, next level, repeat. Still a neat game but I still have my reservation. :/ playpanic Active Member Feb 27, 2013 42 0 0 #20 playpanic, Dec 5, 2014 Actually it's normal strategy with tactics gameplay just with 2d-graphics and understandable interface. Tactical gameplay is like in Heroes of Might and Magic or King's Bounty. You have to decide which units get in battle, which ability use, what position on the field to choose. If you know the Hero Academy - it's someway alike. Braveland Wizard is so called "mid-core" game. It's not simple but not too hard. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
