Something like you can't continue the game unless you pay? As someone else said, with 1.99$ you can get the ultimate pack and unlock everything, plus removing ADs. If you don't, you can still play the whole main campaign with the first 4 heroes, there are no limitations. Kind Regards Marco UnhappyUnlucky Well-Known Member Oct 17, 2014 588 8 18 Lowell, MA, and sometimes Asia #7 UnhappyUnlucky, Nov 23, 2014 Correct. I'm surprised this game isn't more popular than it is right now. I mean it's free to try. I will purchase it down the road when I get my itune gift card. I hope there are more people downloading this than are the people discussing this. It would probably be more popular at boardgamegeek.com. Maybe you should contact the staff at boardgamegeek. Bought the Ultimate Pack (full unlock) right after completing the tutorial dungeon. One small request: To the Hero selection, when starting a quest, could you add the class names, e.g. under the portraits? It's not that easy to remember them all right away And a question: What happens when a Hero dies? Is he gone for good, or just for the dungeon!? lordnedox Well-Known Member May 9, 2014 188 20 18 #9 lordnedox, Nov 24, 2014 Hi, thanks for the purchase, I'm glad you like the game. I think the first problem (names under the portraits) will be soon forgotten as you play a bit more. To answer your question: depends on the mode you chose at the beginning. In normal mode, heroes resurrect each time you start a new dungeon, but if they die they get less XP than the others. In hardcore mode, dead heroes won't resurrect until you complete the whole quest. In this mode you also have only 3 saves per dungeon, but you get a slight bonus XP and Gold. lordnedox Well-Known Member May 9, 2014 188 20 18 #10 lordnedox, Nov 24, 2014 Hi, thanks for the suggestion, I know that site very well as it's been very useful while developing the game. Actually I'm quite satisfied with the results so far, it's been published just 2 days but I'm getting more players than expected. The first release on a new platform is never easy, on other platforms I can use house ads to promote the games, and I can easily convert Arcane Quest 1 players to this new title. Thank you ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #11 ojtitus, Nov 24, 2014 This looks really nice, I decided to buy the ultimate pack to get the whole package. I hope you have success, pocket tactics might also be someplace to contact to try and get a review. Nullzone ð® Spam Police ð Jul 12, 2013 3,669 79 48 Male #12 Nullzone, Nov 24, 2014 @lordnedox: Thanks a lot for answering Next question coming right up: I bought a healing spell that the Cleric can equip. But that's currently not possible because he has only one spell slot. Does he (or the heroes in general) get more spell slots when rising in levels? And I wonder if the following is a bug: The Cleric's Restoration 1 spell only seems to work ~50% of the time. Frequently, when I activate it, I lose the SP, but no healing takes place. Does it e.g. only work in a room (as opposed to corridor), judging from the spell description? The last time it failed my group was out in a corridor, not in a closed room. zeratulo Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2014 127 0 0 #13 zeratulo, Nov 24, 2014 I wish fantasy flight games would do something like this with the Descent board game, the obvious inspiration for this game. I mean this is a decent substitute for on the go, but a developer with a larger financial backing could really kill it. At least Battlelore is coming out soon. lordnedox Well-Known Member May 9, 2014 188 20 18 #14 lordnedox, Nov 24, 2014 Hi, the first game Arcane Quest 1 wanted to be a remake of HeroQuest (initially there were only 4 heroes). This sequel maintains the mechanics, but I needed more depth (in HQ, with a single color dice, you can't have many combinations of dice), so I took inspiration from D&D Board game, which uses colored dice. I understand it can't compete with great productions, such as WH Quest, but consider the development team is one person (me) I hope, if this goes well, to have more funds to invest on a third chapter lordnedox Well-Known Member May 9, 2014 188 20 18 #15 lordnedox, Nov 24, 2014 To answer your first question, yes, as the heroes level rise, they get better statistics, better abilities (those spells you can't unequip) and more spells slots. Around level 5 the cleric will have 2 spells slots, at level 8 will have 3, while the Wizard will have 6. Those spells that work on the characters in the same room, work only if you're inside a room. It's not really a bug, it's something I inherited from AQ1 and is a bit difficult to fix, but I will keep a note and see if can be improved in the next releases. I just published an update 2.0.2 as I found a bug in the equipment screen and in the special die management. Unfortunately Apple will take another week to review and make it available... That would be nice information to see in the ingame help: Which hero gets what at what level, and descriptions of the skills/spells. No worries, if it's that difficult to change, just leave it as is. Changing the spell description to make this more clear should solve the problem. If e.g. it would say "works only in rooms", it'd be pretty obvious. lordnedox Well-Known Member May 9, 2014 188 20 18 #19 lordnedox, Nov 24, 2014 I wish I could have more space, but I design everything for mobile phone and there's not much room for information.
