You are one of the few that have survived and now you must to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population now infected with the disease. In best traditions of survival and horror games, players in "The Survivor" must explore the open world to gather raw materials to build their own weapons, tools, fortifications, shelters, etc. against the dangers of the zombies, infected wildlife and the world itself. The only aim in "The Survivor" is to survive. To do this you will need to overcome struggles such as hunger, thirst, cold and radiation. ► Craft weapons and tools. Chop down trees in the forest to build a camp, or start a fire to keep warm. ► Don't starve! Kill animals for meat. Scavenge food to keep yourself from starving. ► Build a small shelter or a large fortress. Lay traps and defences to keep a safe perimeter. ► Explore and build during the day. Defend your base at night. Key features: ► Random world generation - 1 sq. km chunk of post soviet state randomized with abandoned villages, military bases, deep forests, roads, rivers, lakes, wilderness locations, and more... ► Day and night - Realistic dynamic day and night cycle with sun and moon phases. ► Create and destroy - The world structures and items can be destroyed or scrapped for resources. Re-purpose collected materials to build custom structures and fortification by hand, placing building pieces into the world in real time. ► Inventory - Carry all of the items that you will need to survive in the intuitive inventory system developed to answer the needs of crafting and character customization. ► Item crafting and degradation - In the apocalyptic world of "The Survivor", resources are sparse and every useful bit should be utilized. With a continually growing list of recipes, gather resources such as wood, stone and rust metal to create weapons and tools. As your tools wear out over time, use your crafting skills to repair them. Items or equipment can be improved, turned into something else or fixed using the new crafting mechanisms. ► Animals - Head out into the wilderness to hunt animals once the abandoned buildings are already plundered. ► Stealth system - Sneak past zombies and animals who can see, hear and smell you. ► Environmental temperature - Build/find shelter or campfire. Cold nights or long days will make a difference. It's got really high ratings/reviews on the US AppStore, but that doesn't really mean anything. I'm just gonna wait for The Wild to come out. Really just a lite version as a whole. It is fun and does give that survival feel. I have faith that they will keep updating it. They seem pretty active on it. How do you then pick up the meat? So far it's pretty good. I've for an iPhone 4S so sadly the wild wont work for me. I took the plunge, though, because I am a huge sucker for a game that references the Red Forest in its title! I started my journey by running into an area with high radiation. Neat concept -- do you explore it and take a risk, or die trying? Nothing of interest there. I hit a stationary truck with my rock until I realized it wasn't going to give me anything and I was going to die. I like the Geiger counter sound effects. Next up, got some wood with my trusty rock. Killed a zombie as well. Now I can make torches. I figured I could use a weapon so I made a wooden club. Lots of buildings and textures which don't seem to do anything. That's kind of boring. Or I haven't figured out how to interact with them yet. Killed some bears, some wolves and some rabbits with the wooden club. They drop meat in a comical sort of old school RPG way, like it just sits there after you killed them. When you pick it up (by walking over it) it says you've picked up some wool. I only played a few minutes but the night cycle hasn't started yet. Some minor hitching on my iPhone 5 when expanding the map/textures loading. Overall, intriguing concept but so far lacking any kind of real "soul." It's very "I Just Graduated From Game Design School." The highlight for me was stun-locking a bear with my club. I took no damage. If a game lets me stun-lock a bear with a club I made with my own hands, that game gets my respect. funny_man_vanya Member Sep 24, 2013 18 0 0 #13 funny_man_vanya, Oct 29, 2014 Basically a rough mobile version of rust. kevin8977 Active Member Apr 4, 2014 28 0 0 #14 kevin8977, Oct 29, 2014 I'm loving this game! Craft weapons and tools and stuff and kill things. Lot of typos in the game tho. Also can you go in buildings. I assume you can because you can make them but I can't figure out how to open the door to pre-made buildings. geno11233 Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 1,054 0 0 #15 geno11233, Oct 29, 2014 Is this "the wild"?? Or like a rough draft soft release? Nvm EZ Ice Well-Known Member Sep 22, 2011 119 0 0 Apps Tropical Island Pirate Hangout #16 EZ Ice, Oct 29, 2014 It's a dollar, are you really going to lose much? Seems like if you like the genre, try it. meowthefox Active Member Oct 13, 2014 29 0 0 #17 meowthefox, Oct 29, 2014 This game has been quite enjoyable. I bought it as soon as I heard about it and played it for a good 3 hours. So far I've built a pretty big house, at first I didn't see much wildlife or zombies, but once I ventured out more from my house I found a bear and few wolves, and undead wolf and a bunch of zombies. I like how the zombies drop more than just cloth, I got a bloody spiked bat from one zombie. I also found some building like structures with loot. With the loot I found in my searches I was able to make an iron outpost(base) with a sleeping bag and fire that serves as a good waypoint when I get lost. All in all this game was definitely worth the dollar I spent and the few hours I've spent playing it. So for anyone who wants to know if it's a good game. I hope my short review has helped. Also it definitely has elements of Rust and The forest. Which I'm sure a lot of of you guys thought it might. Also it's very well made and with very few glitches it makes me happy to know that developers are trying to expand this genre to handheld devices as well. seo25 Well-Known Member May 3, 2010 131 0 16 #18 seo25, Oct 29, 2014 i don't know... it seems that most of the impersonations have been people who have LOVE THE GAME SO MUCH they created accounts just to comment on it.... I've for this game and it's a good decent 'wild' game specially for lower devices. Well worth picking up Kraudi2k Well-Known Member May 24, 2012 339 1 18 Male #20 Kraudi2k, Oct 29, 2014 Performance is excellent on iPhone 6. Would love to have some more grass on the ground. Just plyed some minutes before going to work but it looks like this game is very solid even its more of an early access. Really hope the dev has some nice updates in the pipeline (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
