PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 3 0 Norwich, England #4 PeteOzzy, Oct 23, 2014 I'd definitely go into this forewarned as it seems too good to be true and the first screenshot is concept art and not gameplay. It could be awesome, but it could just as easily be a trick...though maybe I'm too cynical for my own good. Definitely legit and... really good! Thought it was quite a weak week but this has more than made up for the other shortcomings! This and the last week was a thunderstruck concerning real good games... I played the first chapter and to me, this is a bit of a mixed bag. Some real good stuff and what a surprise, some not so good. I'll edit this post in a few minutes. Edit: installed 1.0 GB, no change language (argh german again), no music/sfx option, graphic reminds me a bit of Max Payne-ish (i like them!), loading is pretty fast and you can skip cutscenes, no look around by swiping (ok with me 'cos well done), 11 chapters for sure (first took me about 20 mins. going very slowly due to the video), two default weapons with limited amo, 5 different bombs, 2 medi/shield, everything can be upgraded up to three times i guess, one currency!, iap with 5 different prices as usual, controls are good with an invisible floating stick but with (of course) no customization for the very little, narrow and cramped right side of the screen (iphone here), imho. My experience also says it's a battery drainer and overheating game. Don't know if there will be a female fighter once finished, but there is one on the starting screen and there are 3 slots to play. We'll see... Once the game started with this nice cutscene, my heart started beating. Lovely dark, rainy and tense atmosphere right of the bat. No music, just rain and wind. Our hero moves pretty fast and damn, so do some of the zombies too. Not advised to run anywhere too fast or you'll be surrounded and lose lots of health. Some easy interactions here and there, some jumping as well (floaty as if on the moon) and again, fast zombies. You have a melee attack, stronger than any shooting weapon so far, and occasionaly a bullet-time monster slash, raw lovely. The aiming doesn't feel the best at first and needs some time to get used to. At least i do. No explanation what each bomb does, so you might waist a precious item. Finally a little boss, not too difficult once knowing his pattern. End of chapter one. The enemies drop some loot and there are some destroyable items along the way. Make sure you grab everything you can, 'cos to me the bombs/medikit prices are pretty high. In between the level i found a "seller" to refresh your amo if waisted too much. Learn to use your big knife if possible. If you find a weapon, you don't own it yet. You buy it in the shop later, if you have some money left. Again, just best the first stage. Definitely watch the video and make up your own mind. I can't recommend it from my heart but i'm glad that i toftt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm9cVwhpHrY stlredbird Well-Known Member May 21, 2009 1,354 0 36 #12 stlredbird, Oct 23, 2014 I think I'll wait for a gameplay vid. Respawn with a full life bar keeps me going. Thank god, there is always a checkpoint after beating a wave. The story and overall atmosphere is what keeps me going. Pretty creepy stuff. I'd say that people who enjoyed Hail to the King (i did) could like this one, probably not the others. Polarity again. A lot of room for improvement in this game and the Devs never played their own game on an iphone with this button layout...never. It's incredibly hard to belive that button customization is still not a standard option. Maybe in the year 2545 but i won't hold my breath Ahh, now i got it. Some Dead Space and Duke Nukem vibes, probably that's what keeps me going. bigjack66 Well-Known Member Aug 5, 2013 664 0 0 #14 bigjack66, Oct 24, 2014 Last edited: Oct 24, 2014 It was a weak week till this came out. Qwertz555 Well-Known Member May 22, 2010 2,318 29 48 #15 Qwertz555, Oct 25, 2014 I beat the game, finally. Died many, many times, also due to the narrow control layout. Couldn't let go, though at stage 6 the final boss was too fast and strong. Delete it out of frustration because i lack skills, or is it even a little paywall to force the player to buy an iap? Some would say yes, a few no...maybe. Too much fun for me, so i decided to start from the beginning, grinding for coins to power up my weapons and get more battle experience at the same time. And it worked out. Beat that boss and could go on until the end. No walk in the park at all to tell you my truth. Maybe i stick to these kind of adventure and action games, because i never played any console games in my life. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Duke Nukem MP, Hail to the King and now his one, where the story draws me in and beeing dual stick shooters, my genre. I've been looking for reasons to get it so can anyone tell me if it has an actual storyline to go with the gameplay. I'm used to no story in games nowadays and often don't expect too much, but I am one of the few who thinks a good storyline can be a great asset to any game giving players incentive to continue playing and in turn enriching the gameplay experience. It's one of the reasons the Infinity Blade series is not only my favorite ios RPG, but one of my favorite RPGs on ANY console/system as it has some of the most in depth and intriguing lore and in-game stories I've ever experienced sallysmile Member Dec 16, 2014 13 0 0 #19 sallysmile, Dec 16, 2014 Downloaded the game.
