I even have a Totoro tattoo. But I don't like rip offs. Is this a genuine Ghibli release? Or is it some copycat nonsense? If this is not an official Ghibli release, then it's plagiarism, and should be dealt with as such. Buddy and Me was a really cool game that took inspiration from the Miyazaki films. They didn't just jack his characters and put them in their game. They came up with something new. djstout Well-Known Member Jul 21, 2011 2,685 105 63 Sportscaster & football (soccer) coach Taiwan & Japan #10 djstout, Oct 16, 2014 Studio Ghibli only made one game, and this is not the one, it's just some Miyazaki's fans who made a game and I like it even if it's not the real deal, we won't get any Ghibli on IOS so that's our only choice Rawk GWJ Well-Known Member Feb 9, 2014 335 0 16 #11 Rawk GWJ, Oct 16, 2014 Yeah. I've played it, and I get it. The mechanics of controlling the broom is pretty fun. I like that they've put a caricature of Miyazaki in the game. I'll probably play it a little more before deleting. But I stand by my original statement. Rather than come up with original characters that are heavily inspired by the Ghibli films, they just stole the characters. That's just plain lazy. There is a fine line between "fan service" and plagiarism. Sadly this game is firmly planted on the wrong side. I feel like there was an opportunity to do something amazing here, but what we get instead uninspired fluff. djstout Well-Known Member Jul 21, 2011 2,685 105 63 Sportscaster & football (soccer) coach Taiwan & Japan #12 djstout, Oct 16, 2014 Yeah I totally understand what you mean and I kind of agree, there was another game called Tanuki Forest which was also inspired by Ghibli but didn't copy and paste, I would also want to see more of it but it's sadly too rare. ramon31 Well-Known Member Sep 4, 2011 843 0 16 Hortacultrist Australia #13 ramon31, Oct 16, 2014 Wow this game is a rip off of Retry big time! It's actually fun. Rising Member Jul 16, 2014 20 0 0 #15 Rising, Oct 18, 2014 Last edited: Oct 19, 2014 tough game indeed , but really nice, I love it ! I like it a little more than Retry as of right now, but I'm still in the early stages of the game. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #18 nightc1, Oct 20, 2014 I don't feel too bothered by this being somewhat a rip... I mean I loved Kiki's Delivery Service so much back in the day and even when I watched it again earlier this year it proved itself yet again to be one of my favorite anime movies easily. Gameplay wise, yes this has a sort of flappy mechanic. I am past sick of that control scheme but it works well here. Level 2 with the platform you have to ride really shows some creativity. This is a pretty solid game. Yes the menu is confusing, the hand holding stuff at the start of every level (even retries) is annoying, but the gameplay is solid fun. I'm not sure what the IAP is for. There aren't any ads (yet) and content seems to unlock by just completing the level. Guess I need to play more.
