The cartoon intro is amazing. I've been watching the classic Transformers cartoon on Netflix lately, and this thing is perfect. The gameplay has the basic Angry Birds loop of knocking over towers to kill birds, but the fast pace of moving through a level forces you to use strategy and quick reflexes instead of just restarting a level over and over until you get it just right on accident. Just tried it out from the nz store but can't buy any IAP like the jenga mode because I don't have nz store credit. Looks like a very cool cross over from what I played (I do love transformers tho so I'm totally biased) Edit. Nvm holy crap £6.99 for the jenga mode I'm not paying that much. andysmash Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 2,067 1 0 #10 andysmash, Sep 25, 2014 Not at all! Michael Bay creates porn-parody-style exaggerations of classic kids cartoons. This is full of homages to the classic cartoons, with animation, sounds and loading screens meant to directly invoke or duplicate what was on the screen in the 80s. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #11 psj3809, Sep 25, 2014 Ha ha another oldie eh ! I prefer the 80's style but the revamped Transformers has obviously been a huge hit with the younger audience. Its a bit like us oldies moaning when Robocop was redone, i still love the original but if a reboot does well with a new audience we shouldnt moan. But yeah the graphics/gameplay look surprisingly good, wasnt expecting much from this but it looks impressive. Nice slight change on the angry birds type of game PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 3 0 Norwich, England #12 PeteOzzy, Sep 25, 2014 I think everyone moaned after watching the Robocop reboot! Definitely agreed with you, another "oldie" here...at least mentally lol. I absolutely love that big games are being found by members like HansKaosu and Rich, waking up to find this without having to look for it is awesome! Cheers for your hard work HK, good to have you back! OT: Downloading this as of now, hopefully it's not an IAP-fest in disguise. I am all for innovating beyond the same old Angry Birds re skin, but this feels like a few steps backward. I thought of so many cool ways Rovio would implement the Transformers theme, but this is horrible. Most importantly, I see no quality in the gameplay at all. The Angry Birds games have always had this quality that makes you want to try a level 'just one more time', an addictive quality. I don't see that here at all. To those who like it, that's cool, enjoy it! For me though , I feel really let down with what could have been pretty cool nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #17 nightc1, Sep 25, 2014 I broke free of the original 80's cartoon a while back. The modern cartoons from the 90's and 2000's were all pretty excellent. Once I got out of behind the singular universe (or dimension) of how the story of the transformers could be told, the easier it was to accept other interpretations. I enjoyed the first 3 movies for the popcorn action flicks they were. Still, I like the retro throwback... and yet still another new vision for Transformers. Gameplay though seems abit... eh... simplistic. Not sure that's the right word, but it looks super boring. I can see they are doing some new stuff here and I applaud them for trying new stuff.. but it just doesn't look fun (and I watched most of sanuku's video). What are the requirements on this one (No NZ store and appinfo wont load on games not yet out in the usa). I'm thinking it's a pass, but if it's iOS7 or 8 only or it requires an iphone 5 or better then the decision won't need to be mine anyway. You start to get some color bleed and scan lines. Pretty cool. I dig it. Easy to pick up and play a level quickly, and the IAP stuff doesn't seem (SO FAR!) to be evil. I can see how that could happen, as you unlock new bots by killing pigs, and certain levels can only be played by certain bots, which could put you in a situation where you can't progress until you grind out levels to get pigs to get a bot... It is very possible it'll become evil. But I don't see a way to buy dead pigbots to get a bot or straight up buy one, so maybe it'll be OK? Oh, and recharging health that can be filled by coins, not premium currency - that's great! (50 coins to recharge health, and you can earn 250+ coins per level easily). Good exchange rate. People should give them game a shot.
