Saw it at PAX and wanted to support him. It looks cool. BUT I hate how it's a freemium, online game. When I saw the preview and listen to the creator talk about it, it was evident this was not a "gamer friendly" game. It's made to get your money. I like the art and an interesting playstyle so I may give it a try. It's pretty stupid to only be online just because it's 98% single player. Lame. Probably the best "online battler" game I've played. Better than most because they've made the interface so smooth it doesn't feel like I'm playing those "loading" "connecting" ridiculous online games. However among those lines, you can tell it's supposed to be a single player game because of how good it runs yet it isn't. So far, there aren't even PvP or allied elements (probably still working on developing it) so it makes it even more ridiculous. You MUST have constant connection or the game will not load any areas at all. Gameplay is unique and quite fun. It keeps you on your toes and stays fresh. You can't "auto" these battles which I like. Yet it's simple and takes some skill to master. Fighting bosses is fun to. I recommend others to give it a try. Finding new classes/characters seems fun but also hard. Common cards are class cards while rarer cards are character named cards. I'm sure those will be hard to come by (premium currency). There are also item drops but you can't equip them so that's a bummer. They're used for changing character classes so far though I don't know how to use them yet. I dropped 1 point for online only and another for being freemium (timer, premium currency, etc). I could drop more points but I really want to give the dev a chance as he's one of my favorite guys. I even got his signature on my classic Parasite Eve manual Overall I STILL HATE ONLINE ONLY single player games and this game is a perfect example of a single player game I'd pay $10-20 for easily for a full offline game based on its quality. But because of everyone clamoring for free games, online only games happened. I know with 99.9% certainty there won't be a solo/offline version ever so I can only reluctantly recommend this game that is better than almost all free online collection battlers. As a bonus, the art and music is amazing. If he gets more downloads, they'll eventually show battle animation art (the only bonus I really want atm). GreedPhantom Well-Known Member Jul 9, 2014 1,013 0 0 France https://www.facebook.com/nagui.cherigui #11 GreedPhantom, Sep 9, 2014 I must agree with that. This was made for iOS/Android from start. Only played 5 minutes but man. Love the universe and battling system ! Capricornman Well-Known Member Dec 8, 2011 2,992 0 0 #12 Capricornman, Sep 9, 2014 Buttery smooth game. Amazing graphics. Just seeing where it takes me with the party members I get by chance and hopefully that's far into the game....we shall see L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #13 L.Lawliet, Sep 9, 2014 Yeah it runs smoother than any online game I've ever played. It shouldn't be online.. it's a disservice to how good it is. Though I'm glad I can put up with it. Some games take like 3 seconds or more to load between each menu and those I'll delete in minutes. Drives me insane. Getting a new member is expensive though. You make 50 coin on average and then a new member costs 8k (and is most likely a common member). Seems like a big grind. Capricornman Well-Known Member Dec 8, 2011 2,992 0 0 #14 Capricornman, Sep 9, 2014 Sure hope it doesn't become a grind, that would be a shame. At least I haven't come across any ads yet....fingers crossed Yes it would be great to have the option to play offline L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #15 L.Lawliet, Sep 9, 2014 Whoops I was wrong about 50 coin. Not sure what the average is as the coins change depending on area (a good thing). At least in the 2nd area, you can make 200-250 coin which is a lot better than 50. Though timers will keep you from grinding easily. Yeah offline would be amazing. Playing this anywhere without using data plan (or timer bars to limit me), i'd be so addicted. This is a pretty cool RPG / Puzzler in a way. Sequence Well-Known Member Jul 15, 2012 262 1 18 #16 Sequence, Sep 9, 2014 When I first heard this was another "social creature collecting/fusing battle game" I was a bit let down as I love Mistwalker. Not that I hate the genre, I play Brave Frontier pretty regularly but there's so many out there just like the million Clash of Clans clones. But they took the formula and ran in a new direction. This game doesn't play itself, there's no "auto" button, you have to actually use your brain and use STRATEGY. Once you have the basics of tile movements and how to set to chain attacks it gets real. It's hard to put this down. And this is just the soft launch. I really hope this catches on for the full release as I'm looking forward to more content being released the more downloads they get. I do wish you could play this offline (There's that Etherlords thing that came out recently that's a social battler that can be played offline but Terra Battle blows this out of the water and it's not even the full launch.) I recommend if you guys are curious as to how to to this type of game right, get yourself a Canadian account and download this right now. GreedPhantom Well-Known Member Jul 9, 2014 1,013 0 0 France https://www.facebook.com/nagui.cherigui #17 GreedPhantom, Sep 9, 2014 ok guys. This is the best freemium game i've ever played on iOS. It's not a pay to win game. The only bad sides are online connection and timers. But besides that. This is one of the best RPG/puzzle i've ever played. Because it's new. The creator said they took advice from Gungho (devs of Puzzle and Dragons) oh god they did right. Totally a blast this game. Kirenx Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2012 774 0 0 #18 Kirenx, Sep 9, 2014 I found the gameplay itself rather dull, but I did like that the IAP seemed pretty limited. The stamina/timer feels out of place though, this just doesn't have the feel of a game that should limit people's play. Although the game seems to have puzzle elements, it also has unit rarity and leveling, which in my experience tends to dilute strategic necessity when players are able to simply pass stages with brute force. Whether or not this becomes an issue with Terra Battle is a mystery for those who feel invested enough to continue the grind. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #19 L.Lawliet, Sep 9, 2014 I'm... getting really addicted. This is bad. But I need to take a break. It's too fun. I'm glad PvP isn't the focus of the game so I don't have to feel like I'm racing other players. In card collecting games it always seemed like you had to fight for the best cards and obsessively play so you could beat out other players. I feel more relaxed here... you know.. like a real RPG. Timer is at +1 every 5 minutes. Not amazing but not horrible. I've seen worse. Anyhow, I'm an artist and I'm always on the look out for amazing art. Here's some art from this game: Comments: I love the look of the lead girl. The Knight classes have a really cool uniformed look. And then the mage is pretty awesome - designs that would look right at home with Final Fantasy Tactics. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #20 L.Lawliet, Sep 9, 2014 Going to have to disagree just because all RPGs have leveling and rarity (think items). You're probably thinking it should be strictly a puzzle then you'd have valid concerns however this leans more toward and RPG (and not as dull as continually pressing attack or hitting auto). This game in a way is more action packed than traditonal RPGs! It really only lacks item equips which I wish it had. If there's no rarity and no leveling, there's no incentive to keep the same characters or feel any attachment toward playing it since there's no "progression." An RPG with no leveling/upgrading 95% of the time is a no-no to me. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
