If you equate Carmageddon with the original Death Race movie, Battle Riders feels like the game version of the Jason Statham Death Race remake. Either way, its a heck of a lot of fun." http://arcadelife.wordpress.com/2014/08/15/battle-riders-ios-coming-soon-and-youre-going-to-want-it/ PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 3 0 Norwich, England #6 PeteOzzy, Sep 3, 2014 Sounds awesome, nice find RR! psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #7 psj3809, Sep 3, 2014 I managed to get an early copy of this. Its very impressive, seems to be a lot of content, i did about 5 races, the level of difficulty was just about right. Small issues like the control buttons should be lower (or made adjustable) but i'm sure things like that will be in a future update. Very impressive Death Race/Road Blasters/Mario Kart with weapons type of game redribbon Well-Known Member Jun 11, 2010 2,799 53 48 entepreanur, programmer #8 redribbon, Sep 3, 2014 you should try it pete, its a lot of fun and many positive reviews already from few gaming sites. yes i agree with others it feels like the reincarnation of jason statham very own death race movie ). the best of all, this game doesn't have IAP. too bad they dont support multiplayer right now, but i guess if the game doing well, the developer might add that feature in the future update. One time purchase as well is really great as well Ayjona Well-Known Member Sep 8, 2009 3,295 21 38 Freelance journalist and writer, amateur musician Stockholm, Sweden #12 Ayjona, Sep 3, 2014 This looks promising. I hope they add multiplayer, though, as player versus player can extend the longevity and challenge of any skill-based title. I also hope there is an arena mode, where the objective is not to win a race but to destroy the other combatants. For some strange reason, many post-apocalyptic vehicular combat and racing titles leave this out, even though it used to be a standard of the genre. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #13 psj3809, Sep 3, 2014 There are several types of races.... Battle race - race to the finish, finish first to win Duel - Race against one opponent Survival - Finish first or be the last one standing Elimination - Each lap the last car is eliminated Clean race - no weapons, just a race Time trial - Race against the clock But yeah one huge arena instead of a track would be fun but theres a fair bit of variety oscar123967 Well-Known Member Aug 1, 2012 1,832 0 0 #14 oscar123967, Sep 3, 2014 Definitely my GOTW, great game. Valentin C Well-Known Member Aug 17, 2014 49 0 0 http://www.battleriders.net #16 Valentin C, Sep 3, 2014 Battle Riders Hello, My name is Valentin Ciampuru and I am the creator and developer of Battle Riders. First of all I would like to thank everyone for their support. A little bit of the background story: Two and a half years ago I've quit my day job and started working on this title. After 12 years in the games industry (mostly art and design) I had managed to put aside enough to support me and my family for the next year (that's how much time I thought it would take). Since then I have lived, breathed, ate and drunk Battle Riders (the original title was Battle Race but it was taken in the meantime). Now the game is done, and while far from perfect, it is as close as I could make it. I invite everyone to post any thoughts they have on the game. Any feedback is welcome. I will try to take everything into consideration. Funny fact: When I started outlining this project the action was meant to take place in a huge arena and not on tracks, but the AI seemed to fare better when given waypoints, and the action seemed more intense. But I might revisit that idea. Also, I wanted to mention that some more info on the game can be found on the forum in the Upcoming section. Many thanks, Vali psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #17 psj3809, Sep 3, 2014 I think its very close to being one of my favourite games already. The controls - you mentioned these might be customised/moved down in an update so thats great. Please have a larger gap between the machine guns and the brake also The tracks, bit more variety or different graphics, granted i havent got that far yet so i hope i'll see some changes later on. The career mode i thought might be like 'ahem' Mario Kart, bear with me ! As in you get points for races, something like a 'cup' might be quite good where you have 3 races and you have to finish first etc. But it has so much potential, its done by an indie dev and you can tell the love which has been put into it. You're very open to feedback which is good. Tons of potential for this one Pocketnova Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2012 2,346 0 0 #18 Pocketnova, Sep 3, 2014 Just had such a close call when getting first on a race. I was seconds away from the finish line, but one car got ahead of me, which I was able to blow up with a rocket from my weapon. So very satisfying. I really am looking forward to buying this when it comes out. (Or gifting it to some friends since I already downloaded it to my main US account) This is an EXTREMLy well done indie title that anyone interested in high-octane racing and car based firefights should absolutely get and support this very good indie devoleper. I hope this game succeeds and allows you to continue to make more great games. Pocketnova Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2012 2,346 0 0 #19 Pocketnova, Sep 3, 2014 This is very true. This is much better than about 95% of the crap on the AppStore made by studios with many more people. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #20 nightc1, Sep 3, 2014 I reserve my judgement for GOTW until after I play Mikey Boots. But of all the other games coming out this week this is the only other one I've got my eyes on since most of the others require iOS7. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
