The gameplay itself breathes new life into the tired runner genre, splicing in some Super Hexagon/Wave Wave style twitch gaming, but the developers are firing on all cylinders here. The artwork is gorgeous, the music is intense but understated enough to not distract and the controls are sharp. One of the few runners I've enjoyed this year. Highly recommended. Playing this gave me the same kind of adrenaline rush I got when I first discovered the genre with Canabalt, I had genuine goosebumps from the intensity and atmosphere. Is it just an inverted up/down? What ware the control options? Anyway, this looks pretty decent. I'm going to keep an eye on it. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #12 sapphire_neo, Aug 27, 2014 You control the ship only along the y-axis by sliding your thumb/finger up and down. By default controls are inverted, but you can disable that. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #13 sapphire_neo, Aug 27, 2014 Void is my favorite mode thus far, slower than both the preceding modes but pushes the tension up tenfold. BehindTheSun Active Member Aug 24, 2014 34 0 0 Journalist Saigon, Vietnam #14 BehindTheSun, Aug 27, 2014 None of them remains for my turn, I like the title, it's like a thriller game and the art style looks the same too, however, video is quite an action genre. One more stuff to check tonight, this will be definitely my awesome lonely night! sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #15 sapphire_neo, Aug 27, 2014 laserdog, is 3900-4000m of Void always an extremely narrow diagonal tunnel? laserdog Member Aug 27, 2014 9 0 0 #16 laserdog, Aug 27, 2014 No, it's different each time. Well, it should be I'm really surprised you're on void already! I'm thinking you might be on an older version before we tweaked the unlock distances. This might be due to the way promocodes work. If you open up the credits screen it says what version you're on. The latest is v1.0.1 sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #17 sapphire_neo, Aug 27, 2014 Yup, the build I have is 1.0, does the final build require even more up distances to unlock modes? I could see 6000 as still doable but anything more would be masochistic. And I've enountered the same narrow exit to 4000 four times in a row. laserdog Member Aug 27, 2014 9 0 0 #18 laserdog, Aug 27, 2014 Ah cool. It's probably because it's not live yet, so you won't have the update. That's annoying, sorry about that! Yeah, the unlocks are very difficult! We did a bunch of play testing and found that we made it a bit too easy and people unlocked all of the modes too quickly. We think we've balanced it between super hard and insanely hard sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #19 sapphire_neo, Aug 27, 2014 Cool, I'll reinstall the game when the new build is available to me and start over :-D nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #20 nightc1, Aug 27, 2014 Thanks. I usually prefer inverted for 3d flying games, but not for side scrolling. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
