Pretty solid for a free game with only 1 currency and no timer crap. Nothing locked away with IAP, all unlocked from gold you can farm or as drops from mobs and bosses. Runs at 60fps. Great loot farming for the perfect mix of affixes plus it has MFi support! PS4 controller works if you have controllers for all. Ellisa gameplay at level 23 doing Act 4-6 (Easy). I was using a controller here. Recording is limited to 30fps. I'll get bored with just hack and slash but as a casual game might be good. worldcitizen1919 Well-Known Member Jun 27, 2012 1,615 0 36 #4 worldcitizen1919, Aug 13, 2014 Not really my cup of tea. The controls could be better. Echoen Well-Known Member May 16, 2012 2,114 3 38 USA #8 Echoen, Aug 13, 2014 Reaper: Tale of a Pale Swordsman is all I can think of at the moment that isn't all out freemium trash but I think you've already played that. And yes, a controller makes this game INCREDIBLY enjoyable! I'm trying to unlock the Rogue ASAP and make a video for it. How did you find the touch controls? IMO, the attack buttons are too close to each other. It might be too small for some especially on an iPhone but it works for me. I've spent some time with the game using a PS4 controller and I have to say it is fantastic. The only problem with using a controller is there's a bug with switching skill sets in battle causing the game to crash. Gold influx might be a tad slow for some (it's free) but you can quickly finish runs in 2 minutes. Maximum level is amazingly 80 but isn't surprising since there are 3 difficulties. Given that this was made by a Korean group, I can feel the roots of a KRPG grind. It's not appalling but could wear out people used to quick leveling, even if rounds only last a couple of minutes. Overall, I think it's a game that will easily please the free-to-play crowd with beautiful 60fps hack and slash gameplay and interesting loot to find but Arcane Soul will may still turn off a lot of premium buyers. It's worth a look at least! ImJPaul Well-Known Member May 23, 2012 840 0 16 Male MGMT! Baltimore #11 ImJPaul, Aug 14, 2014 The developers are obviously fans of Dust An Elysian Tale. Some things are literally only changed a hair. Still might be worth a shot if it's even 1% as good as Dust. But it looks solely single player. Trying to unlock that archer for now. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #19 L.Lawliet, Aug 14, 2014 Dude... sleeper hit. I knew of this game for a while since KaoKao had it exclusively. However it was an online only game and felt very freemium. This one feels great. Just for being offline, I think I'll throw them some money. The art is incredibly gorgeous. Speaking of fun, this game took me by surprise. I was anticipating poking fun at how cute it is trying to mimic DC. But a straight hour of play and I'm thoroughly impressed with the fluid and fun combat, and the dev totally nailing the level pacing. It keeps you on the one more go route, usually having new things unlocked after levels. Way impressed though it certainly isn't DC. But thats quite all right.
