Does look really awesome though. PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 3 0 Norwich, England #5 PeteOzzy, May 14, 2014 I remember seeing Rockstar Table Tennis and being so impressed with the visuals. Now we have handheld games that look even better than that! I feel a little odd getting so excited about a Table Tennis game though, may wait for impressions from those with older hardware as I have severe doubts it will run lol Bewi Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 247 0 0 France, Nord http://iphonesoft.fr #6 Bewi, May 14, 2014 Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Appletini Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2011 2,564 0 0 Ankh-Morpork #7 Appletini, May 14, 2014 Don't worry, you can still play both table tennis and regular tennis with an iPad 2. I'm not here to promote, just to answer any questions you might have: @VirtualBoyFreak: the download size is something we've battled with. We have some lovely big arenas that all have retina graphics, and those graphics take up a lot of space. Also, Table Tennis Touch is a Universal app, so if you buy it for you iPhone it will also work on your iPad. But that means we have a few more graphics on board. I think it's worth it ;-) @ImJPaul: I can understand why you'd think it's a basic game! But it's not just plain table tennis matches (although there are a lot of them). We have 6 different types of mini-games that you play with a table tennis bat (skittles, little house, half table ...). You can see them in our trailer and screen shots. Having coded them all, I can tell you they're not that simple! @GaZ-OiD: sorry, but they are first to 11. But you can do best of 5 sets. We found that hardcore table tennis players sometimes wanted 21 points but most people found it too long. If anyone else has any questions I'll keep an eye on this thread and reply as soon as I can. Thanks, James Table Tennis Touch Active Member May 14, 2014 28 0 0 #11 Table Tennis Touch, May 14, 2014 From the Developer We've tested the game on lots of hardware and it runs really well on the following: - iPhone 4s - iPhone 5 - iPhone 5c and s - iPad 2, 3, 4, air - iPad mini + mini retina - iPod 5th gen (or newer) We're really sorry, but it doesn't run at all on iPhone 4 or older and the iPad 1. We tried hard, but it just wouldn't work. If anyone wants to know the technical reasons why then ask me! And as I said earlier, it's a Universal app so buy once and it works on both iPhone and iPad. (PS: when I say runs really well, I mean 60 frames per second at full retina.) PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 3 0 Norwich, England #12 PeteOzzy, May 14, 2014 That's awesome, thank you for the info! Looks like another one to add to my list for tonight then I'm generally cursed when it comes to higher end games running on my iPad 2; I imagine because it's been very well used! If it's any reassurance, my mum has an iPad 2 and I wouldn't want to rip her off when she buys tonight ;-) But she has also been playing on our beta programme too and it works really well on her iPad 2. Thanks GaZ Table Tennis Touch Active Member May 14, 2014 28 0 0 #17 Table Tennis Touch, May 14, 2014 From the Developer Hi GaZ - we've tried to keep the configuration simple, but if we get enough demand then we can introduce 21 points in an update. We'll keep listening. The gameplay is all sim based, so realistic physics, 3D environments and the camera moves from the player's point of view. Then we realised this meant we could do lots of other things - so we have arcade-style games that make up parts of the career. For example, a half table that is super challenging, a serving-based game where you have to serve into a target avoiding obstacles ... see the screenshots and trailer. The career has 9 serious tournaments, 6 challenge matches and 12 arcade-style games (6 normal, 6 difficult). The tournaments start out short but as you progress through your career they get longer (first to 11). There's a lot of table tennis there! (Beta testers took an average of 21 hours to complete their careers.) If you're in a hurry, there's a quick game - some quick fire table tennis action. It gets really fast!
