By no particular way, I don't really see iOS as a platform so starved for good baseball games as some reviews of RBI indicated. Baseball Superstars was a charming franchise, the payment model notwithstanding (and it was actually on the sligthly more generous end of the spectrum, once you understood how to make headway without spending cash), and had some solid baseball action and sim mechanics, and the 9 Innings series had two great entries. That said, this looks like the best implementation so far. Ayjona Well-Known Member Sep 8, 2009 3,295 21 38 Freelance journalist and writer, amateur musician Stockholm, Sweden #13 Ayjona, May 7, 2014 Game Impressions First impressions reveal really polished presentational values (the music in particular levies a triple-A feel over the first few minutes), but quite a few freemium shenanigans of the less player-friendly variety, such as the necessity to spend (purchaseable) currency to guarantee a 100% success rate to level up players. Possibly no timers of absolutely paywalls, though. mstacheef Well-Known Member May 2, 2013 65 3 8 #14 mstacheef, May 7, 2014 Does this require an internet connection to play? First the extra download wasn't welcome. I assume an always on connection simply because there's a shop! Gameplay was average but a few too many buttons I'll give it a few more spins and return later. First impressions were the menu was very confusing. Took me a while to figure out how to get the game started. Playing its another thing. It seems realistic but with a deep learning curve. This is the exact opposite of RBI baseball. After watching the video, it sure feels like modern devices should be able to get something better looking, stable out there. Looked very bland, fps looked low, the crowd was laughable. Something about sports games I guess, took old gen consoles awhile to get out quality performing/looking sports titles as well. Still, just feels like this should look better then it does. Again, just feels like these devices have more then enuf horsepower to get something better then this out. Did some house cleaning last night on the phone and ipad and erased a ton of games that just had little appeal due to all the convoluted freemium approaches out there. I get it, it's a business and if the model works you are crazy not to use it but it's a turn off to casual gamers like myself who want the whole thing, don't want to grind yet don't want every game they play to be a slot machine either. Had always hoped it was the iap unlock approach that was adopted more. redribbon Well-Known Member Jun 11, 2010 2,799 53 48 entepreanur, programmer #19 redribbon, May 7, 2014 Yes F34R Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2012 840 1 18 #20 F34R, May 7, 2014 My take....
