Really a nice game with lots of replay in collecting cards that can offer better units and at cheaper prices to deploy. These cards will give you options on towers to use. Gems drop alot when playing. I don't think you will have any problems. I'm currently on level 12 out of 24 levels and I have not bought any iAP yet. The game is really good, especially if you are into TD games. angua2105 Member Nov 29, 2012 18 0 0 #7 angua2105, Jan 26, 2014 Discovered this game a few days ago (and wondered why there was no talk about it anywhere). It is so much fun and very motivating due to the card system. You get random cards ingame and those open up a lot of possibilities such as higher levels for your towers, a diversity of spells/weapons for them and you can mix unneeded cards to get new ones. IAP is unneccessary, you'll get plenty of gems via normal play. Haven't tried out the offensive deck yet, can anyone tell something about the play with it? kikemenendez Member Jun 18, 2012 21 0 0 #8 kikemenendez, Jan 26, 2014 Is this real hd? Thanks! tricket Well-Known Member Feb 15, 2010 287 0 0 #11 tricket, Jan 27, 2014 Hey, everyone -- Tom here, one of the developers. Glad you're enjoying the game! I've been posting a bunch in another thread, but missed this one. For IAP -- yeah, we wanted to have a way for players to jump ahead quickly if they want, but not require them. We've hopefully balanced it so that you can play through the whole game without having to spend any more real money. Sorry for the cruddy video quality -- the initial recording is fine, but whatever compression we've selected from iMovie is clearly sub-par. We'll try to fix that in the next ones. The player-verus-player stuff is all asynchronous, by the way -- like Clash of Clans, in that you set up a deck and people defend against it, and then you can watch the replay. You earn gems either way -- by defending against somebody else's deck, or when somebody else defends against you. galfridus Member Patreon Bronze Jan 5, 2014 12 0 0 #12 galfridus, Feb 2, 2014 I'm enjoying this game, but wondering about some of the card options. For example, what happens if you put two of the same card (say, Archers Level 1) in the deck? What if you put in level 2 without level 1? HLW Well-Known Member Sep 2, 2010 1,355 0 0 UK #13 HLW, Feb 2, 2014 The iPhone thread is much more active so you're more likely to get a response there, I've only just started playing so can't answer your questions sorry! tricket Well-Known Member Feb 15, 2010 287 0 0 #14 tricket, Feb 3, 2014 Hey there! I'll try to keep an eye on this thread, also. So -- if you put two of the same tower in your deck (like two L1 barracks), both will show up to be able to be built. That's mainly so that if you have one that was enchanted to cost 100 gold instead of 120, but the 120 cost one has better range, you could have both of them available. You do need a connected "chain" from L1 up -- so if you put in a L2 without a L1, you wouldn't be able to build that type of building (unless you were on a level that had already auto-placed a L1 of that type). slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #15 slewis7, Feb 3, 2014 Question for the developer (thanks for being so active): I have been lurking in the Man at Arms threads and am interested in buying the iPad version but I am concerned that there are a lot of bugs and game documentation issues being reported by the iPhone users. Is there an update coming that addresses these concerns? tricket Well-Known Member Feb 15, 2010 287 0 0 #16 tricket, Feb 3, 2014 Hello there! You're welcome -- we're gamers as much as we are developers, so we try to make sure we're here for people! As far as I know, the only actual bug (as opposed to balance changes) is the one on the iPhone, which I think is caused by a memory issues on iPhone 4 devices. We're working on a fix for that now, but it won't go live for a couple weeks, most likely, depending on Apple's response rate. I don't think we've been finding any crash bugs on the iPad version so far -- we've been talking with a bunch of people about making some guys less powerful, and some guys more, but just in a general balance sort of way. For documentation -- I think the biggest question people have is with the combine system. Mainly, if you combine cards A, B, and C, how can you figure out what the result is going to be? That one is something we'll post more about on the website soon. I think the rest of the game (the tower defense aspect) is pretty familiar if you've played any TD games before, and the cards seem to explain themselves reasonably enough, from what I've seen so far. One thing that you may or may not have seen me mention -- if you do have both an iPad and an iPhone, if you buy the iPad version we'll gift you the iPhone version. We didn't end up making the app universal for a bunch of reasons, but we never intended to make people pay twice for the same game. So if you do decide to go for the iPad version, e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll get you the phone version as well. Anyway, hope that helps. I think people are pretty happy, especially with the iPad version, but I'm pretty obviously biased for it. shaymon Well-Known Member Sep 3, 2013 278 1 18 #17 shaymon, Feb 3, 2014 I run the game on iPad and will say it has only crashed on me a couple times and I play a lot. Only bug I ran into was recent. I get a rogue dragon cannon firing for me on a couple levels which only helps if you like TD games, don't miss out on this one. It's great. tricket Well-Known Member Feb 15, 2010 287 0 0 #18 tricket, Feb 3, 2014 Oh, yeah, that's true -- people have found a bug (that has happened to use once or twice as well) where a building from a previous level will somehow stick around, invisible, and shoot at things on a new level. It's a weird bug, I'll give you that! It happens really rarely, which is why we haven't been able to track down the cause yet, but it certainly does count as a bug, even if it's to your benefit! slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #19 slewis7, Feb 3, 2014 I will definitely be buying the HD version of the game as soon as I finish another really good TD game I am playing, but it would be great if the game gets updated to include in-game explanations for all of the questions that seem to be coming up in this and the iPhone version's thread. I would rather not have to comb the threads or jump onto a web site when I am trying to figure out how things work. On the positive side, it is great to see what looks to be a new and interesting mechanic in an IOS TD game. galfridus Member Patreon Bronze Jan 5, 2014 12 0 0 #20 galfridus, Feb 9, 2014 Last edited: Feb 9, 2014 (I'm posting here because a) I'm playing the iPad version and b) the other thread is too big! Firstly, I hit a big wall on Teddy Bear's Picnic, normal difficulty. 10+ tries with no chance of winning. I went back and did many of the previous levels on Master, and through a combination of better cards and better strategy (read: abuse the Dragon Tower) made it through. Secondly, I'm reading that there are cards which give you more money for enemies, and just found a single card which gives you more starting money. I would love to get more of these, but as far as I can tell there's no way to do so other than hope to get them randomly (either through playing levels or buying cards). Since I only have one, I don't want to combine it as I'll probably just lose it. It's a bit frustrating to have people saying how awesome these cards are and have no way of getting them! Thirdly, this is a good game. I'm playing on Retina iPad Mini and have had no crashes. I have mercilessly exploited the phantom archer bug when it came up though. P.S. I also saw a "bug" on Into the Deep where these guys who looked like rogues with scythes ran through the level ignoring all my guys (who ignored them back), but did no damage after they got through. Happened several times. (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Page 1 of 3 1 2 3 Next > Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Password: Forgot your password?
