Just turn off the multi-finger gestures to get the most from it. Five fingers at once in a bullet hell is pretty wonderful! Oh and it's a $0.99 unlock for the main game I believe. The trial is short but it's unique and definitely impressed me enough Edit: Thank you ScotDamn for the price correction. ScotDamn Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Jul 8, 2013 1,990 0 36 Wireless Sales Happy Daddy https://twitter.com/ScotDamn #6 ScotDamn, Jan 24, 2014 It's a $.99 unlock. I'm really digging it so far, but just as I suspected, it takes a bit getting used to holding the device when adding 4 or 5 fingers. Definitely a better experience on an iPad I would think but still fun so far on iPhone. I agree the trial is pretty short, but it was enough to sell me as well. PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 3 0 Norwich, England #7 PeteOzzy, Jan 24, 2014 I hadn't thought of that, I imagine it does have a large effect on the ease of control. Kudos to them for still going ahead with an iPhone version, many devs would have not tried. Cheers for the price correction! I think $.99 is pretty darn reasonable! I agree - I wish more developer would at least try and offer their "iPad Only" games to iPhone users with a disclaimer or something. So many great iPad only games I missing out on! L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #10 L.Lawliet, Jan 24, 2014 So just checking, the "free" game is a short trial? I haven't gotten to playing it yet. Just wondering what unlocking gets you. PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 3 0 Norwich, England #11 PeteOzzy, Jan 24, 2014 Yep, you get the first level, boss and all. It's about a minute maybe one and a half long but it's all you really need to know if it works for you. The IAP unlocks the rest of Arcade mode and the ability to unlock Boss Mode by finishing the campaign. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #12 L.Lawliet, Jan 24, 2014 Okay thanks PeteOzzy! I'll give it a go. I'm actually pretty excited. I hope the full game isn't too short. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #14 L.Lawliet, Jan 25, 2014 It would seem so since that's the only unlock available and once you do that, the unlock sign disappears. You hold your finger(s) on the screen to shoot and control your ship. Letting go of the screen makes your ship disappear so basically the ships are an extension of your fingers. But you have a limited amount of time you can do this before you lose your power (HP's). Definitely an important strategic element to keep in mind. As you go along destroying enemies, you collect power upgrades which enhance your weapons and also collect orbs for laser ammunition. So far, I have a very difficult time having all 5 fingers on the screen. It doesn't seem to be essential to have all 5 ships though, it just adds more fire power. I can easily get 3 ships and slightly limited 4th ship while holding my phone in my hands. The strategy comes from knowing when to unleash all 5 ships and or using your laser which has a limited amount of use. Along with that, remembering you can dodge bullets by disappearing when it gets hectic. So far so good. A good value at $.99 in my book. This game is a great example of why I love iOS gaming! Disclaimer: I'm not a shump guru. The only other shump I've really enjoyed is Phoenix HD. That said, this will sit nicely next to it. I imagine that two ships would be the most common on a smaller screen, would be impossible to have all fingers onscreen at once Echoen Well-Known Member May 16, 2012 2,114 3 38 USA #18 Echoen, Jan 25, 2014 iPhone 5, haven't bought it yet. I usually have just 2 fingers on, sometimes 3. 4 or 5 on the boss when safe. Hard to see bullets with so many fingers and there's no chance of relative movement here. If fingers are too close, they won't register. 2 fingers is fine for the most part as time doesn't seem to modify the score. I advise against keeping your fingers on the screen because enemies not yet visible will die and their pick ups may drift away without you even seeing it. Less points and less energy. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #19 awp69, Jan 25, 2014 Cool game, but, yeah, I can only really do two fingers on my 4S. Otherwise, it's just two uncomfortable to play. I like the idea though and wish I had an iPad to really make full use of it. Bronxsta Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2012 4,698 6 38 http://indiegameenthusiast.blogspot.com/ #20 Bronxsta, Jan 25, 2014 Does the game feel less satisfying with only two ships? Like you know some co-op games, you can play solo but it just feels unbalanced and not fun. Is there a similar feeling here if you're only using so few ships?
