Take control of allied troops and revive the great battles of the second world war in a tense campaign against the german army. You can challenge your friends online on Facebook, Gamecenter or by the passing the device. The two armies take turns building and commanding units on a grid-based map. The objective is to defeat the enemy army. There are two ways to defeat an opponent: destroy every one of the opponent's units on the map or capture the opponent's headquarters. The terrain on a map affects unit range of movements and the defense attributes of units stationed in that terrain. Capturing cities and enemy buildings will give the player new fundings at the beginning of each turn, with which the player can create a variety of new units (soldiers, tanks, planes, ships...) to gain power over his opponent. The game features: * Revive great battles of the second World War in a tense Solo Campaign * 26 missions * 15 different Units : Soldiers, Tanks, Planes, Ships... * 3 difficulty levels * Cross Platform Online Turn-based multiplayer using Facebook * Beautiful HD Graphics Information Seller:Gregory Challant Genre:Adventure, Strategy Release:Jan 22, 2014 Updated:Jun 04, 2018 Version:1.3.59 Size:106.2 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating: (12) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal ScotDamn Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Jul 8, 2013 1,990 0 36 Wireless Sales Happy Daddy https://twitter.com/ScotDamn #2 ScotDamn, Jan 22, 2014 Is this strictly two player or is there single player available? Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #8 Talbs, Jan 22, 2014 I'm thinking the answer to the riddle of a single player campaign is in the very concise description: "great battles of the second world war in a tense campaign against the german army. You can challenge your friends online on Facebook, Gamecenter or by the passing the device." One could interpret this as Game modes are: Play in a campaign (against AI) Or play against friends using facebook or game center Or play using pass and play. That's my thinking. Yes, it is very inspired by Advance Wars. badmanj Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2009 1,886 24 38 Software developer Reading, England http://www.underground-collective.com #10 badmanj, Jan 22, 2014 Campaign is vs the AI. Game looks SO close to Advance Wars - really nice and pretty much identical gameplay. Tutorial text boxes display slightly off screen on iPad Mini Retina so can't read all the text but not that big a deal. Some spelling mistakes (Vehicules, ennemies). No space between 'Player' and 'AI' showing 'playerai' and same for 'Local' and 'User' showing localuser. Would be nice to have names rather than 'AI' and 'local user'. But what I really, really hate... Is that it seems some troop types, such as 'Jeep' is locked until you 'Like' on Facebook. I've paid for this game already; I shouldn't be forced to advertise it on Facebook in return for full functionality. Having said that, this is the real deal - a REALLY nice Advance Wars clone that looks great. By all means ask the player if he'd like to post to Facebook but to hold back game functionality until the player does this is a little nasty. When you click the Facebook icon, it states that Front Wars will receive your public profile info, your friends list, email address and your likes. This is extremely intrusive. So what I'm doing is setting up an empty FB account and using that instead. I don't even use it on some contents to win free ipads, iphone, etc that I would love to win. If someone has it, please write a mini review because there aren't even videos for it. Thanks. I hope it is like Advance Wars which is a classic for me. djstout Well-Known Member Jul 21, 2011 2,685 105 63 Sportscaster & football (soccer) coach Taiwan & Japan #17 djstout, Jan 22, 2014 I was about to give this game a try, but that facebook thing.... ummmmm, let me think a bit more about it, I dont like sharing my games on to facebook just to earn some more coins or whatever. neolancer07 Member Feb 22, 2011 10 0 0 #18 neolancer07, Jan 22, 2014 The map that is shown in the screenshots is an exact copy of one that is in Advance Wars.
