You have a freemium-like system with two currencies (rings and stars) and you have to pay with them to do races with higher difficulty levels than easy. When you not make it to the top-3, you will get less rings than you paid before. There is an option to unlock all races, but therefore you have to pay additional 8,99. The gameplay is quite nice, but when I was testing the game a week ago I thought ist would be a freemium-game without a price. Some impressions in our gameplay-video. You can play the game with the MOGA Controller, but for the menus you still need to touch... http://youtu.be/3s2-CIi1g30 squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #3 squarezero, Jan 1, 2014 If you can unlock all races for that much (around $9.99 US), it's reasonable in comparison with the console and handheld price. So, no, I would not say that the IAP are "really bad" -- in fact, they're kind of ideal. Really bad would be timers and "energy" for racing (like Real Racing 3 and ABG) BoneyCork Well-Known Member Jul 23, 2011 246 0 0 #4 BoneyCork, Jan 1, 2014 Had me worried there for a second. Basically it's less than $15 to unlock everything then (including the original app price) and avoid all iAPs. Seems like a steal to me. The console version is better than Mario Kart. I know that sounds like total lies, but the tracks in this game are amazing. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #5 psj3809, Jan 1, 2014 Glad this is coming out, nice game to get before i return to work ! Hopefully the IAP's arent too bad, i wish devs would forget 'facebook integration' though, do people really annoy their friends/family with lots of crap like that ? Anyway hopefully the game will be decent, instant purchase for me later DannyTheElite Well-Known Member Oct 13, 2012 2,913 0 36 Forum poster Area 51 #6 DannyTheElite, Jan 1, 2014 Yes, that's how CCS got popular _Max_ Well-Known Member Apr 19, 2012 1,500 0 0 #7 _Max_, Jan 1, 2014 Seem iAP quite bad, will give it a try squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #8 squarezero, Jan 1, 2014 Bad in what way? Again, if you can unlock everything for a price, you have the option to go for a premium experience. What's bad about that? wario64 Member Jan 10, 2012 16 0 1 #9 wario64, Jan 1, 2014 Is Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue actually in it? I'm fine with grinding, especially in this game... I've still got the original Sonic Racing on my phone... so I'm pretty sure this one will stay on for quite some time... Or is half the game locked off, only to be had by throwing down more money? MicroByte Well-Known Member Dec 8, 2008 1,328 0 36 in a van down by the river... #11 MicroByte, Jan 1, 2014 Oh wow! If this plays as good as the console/Vita/PC versions, I'll be triple dipping on this game! Even if it is a "good buy" compared to the console versions, this approach seems even more likely to get backlash. A lot of iOS users will think $4.99 is a premium game. Anxious to hear how it is with the initial cost. I just am flabbergasted that they would think this strategy would work. Don't get me wrong I've been waiting this forever and will still likely get it. But if this is the true model $4.99 to get in and $8.99 to then have the "full" game, I can see this quickly dropping to free or $.99 because of the strange implementation. If they wanted to charge $13.99 for it, that's what they should have done. yubashark New Member Apr 20, 2010 1 0 0 #17 yubashark, Jan 1, 2014 Yes, you can play through the entire game without paying.
