Very slick presentation but have to admit even after viewing the tutorial twice and making a stab at the first city of the single player campaign, I'm still a little fuzzy on the inner workings. Like the game will brilliantly show me all of the city stat changes that will result in placing tile x at location y, but at this point why half of those stat changes are resulting from this potential placement isn't clear. Also worth clarifying, much like Carcassone and Agricola, realize that when they speak of the single player campaign, they don't mean you vs. AI opponents but truly you vs. the environment. A nice way to learn basic mechanics but nothing about dealing with real opponents. The game does have AI opponents, they're just not part of the campaign (or maybe they're brought into later cities, but I doubt it). Lastly I love the idea of the public and private goals, some of which are clearly encouraging poor play (like end the game with the lowest income). I love the idea of trying to win the game while also trying to be the biggest loser as well in a certain category.
Buying within a heartbeat. Looks like something wifie would love to play with. More impressions later.

I love Suburbia and the idea of playing a version without the fiddly upkeep of the physical version is enticing. That said, the release version is rough around the edges. There doesn't seem to be any music past the intro. Online multiplayer seems to be completely broken, as in when I attempt to join an auto-match it crashes to the springboard. During a regular game I had an error come up which made progress impossible (one instance of buying a basic tile caused an error and made it impossible to discard a market tile, with no other way to progress the game.) That said, I am still satisfied with my purchase and hope to see fixes and improvements in the near future. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #9 sapphire_neo, Dec 13, 2013 Whoa... ninja release! currymutton Well-Known Member Oct 16, 2008 4,430 1 0 #10 currymutton, Dec 13, 2013 BGG has this one in the news for about a week. Clearly some players (but not all) are having issues playing against computer opponents. I apologize, but promise that we'll do our best to get things fixed quickly. Hopefully it can be fixed easily because I really really enjoy this game. Snotty128 Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2013 654 0 0 #20 Snotty128, Dec 13, 2013 I finished my multiplayer game, still no crashes. There were a few issues with multiplayer though. The biggest that there was no replay of the opponents turn. It makes it difficult to strategise. Some elo or leadboard would be nice too! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
