OLD MEMORIES AND OUTRAGEOUS ADVENTURES ARE BEING REVIVED! That’s right - gaming’s reputed weakest character has finally made his way to your iOS device, and his fate rests squarely in your hands. It’s up to you to safely navigate him through the dangerous caves in search of legendary treasures. THE 1985 CONSOLE VERSION FAITHFULLY RECREATED! The game is faithful to the original console version – down to how quickly the hyperventilating explorer burns through his air supply. But you’ll be holding your breath plenty as you try to maneuver past bats, spiders, snakes and other horrors lurking within the four colossal levels! THAT EERIE CHANGE IN MUSIC CAN ONLY MEAN ONE THING… A nasty ghost has caught your scent!! These relentless pests have been waiting around for more than three decades for a new slew of unsuspecting explorers… and they’re primed to exact their revenge. But don’t overlook a steam geyser, pit or ledge or you’ll be quickly reminded of why the Spelunkers who live to see daylight are a select breed. A LITTLE LOVE FROM THE DEVELOPERS In case you haven’t noticed a recurring theme – there are tons of ways to die in Spelunker! So, to show how much we feel your pain, we’ve added a rope-assist feature that can be activated in the UI. This handy little feature will make jumping from rope to ledge a much safer prospect than ever before. FEATURES • Four colossal caves to explore • Touch optimized controls • New rope-assist feature – no more falling! • Worldwide leaderboards and achievements • Cheating? New continue feature – you may finally complete the game! • Wallpaper and sound options Information Seller:Tozai Games, Inc. Touch controls simply do not have the same precision as a physical controller. I'm more than open to reviews and impressions though Andre Well-Known Member Apr 11, 2012 3,643 2 38 #4 Andre, Oct 29, 2013 Waiting for your reviews. Snooptalian Well-Known Member Sep 12, 2009 1,936 8 38 #6 Snooptalian, Oct 29, 2013 Awesome game. Didn't know this was coming out. Used to be one of my favorite games for the NES long ago. Played through 3 levels of the first cave so far and can say the controls are every bit as good as the original. You'd think touchscreen controls for a precise game like this wouldn't work, but they work flawlessly for me. With the unlimited continues, you'll probably get further than you ever did before. Sound and graphics are spot on. Highly recommended for fans of the original... The down button can be slightly annoying when on a rope. Apart from that it does exactly what it sets out to do. The price is fine. But no auto rotate? Ridiculous ! slamraman Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Aug 27, 2011 2,511 8 38 #15 slamraman, Oct 29, 2013 Last edited: Oct 29, 2013 Yep - just stuck on my iPod (5th gen) and couldn't get to autorotate. This is still very good (and hard) though. Quick edit: just stuck it on my iPad and no delay with the down button but no auto-rotate. Actually tried in my iCade too and it didn't work with that. Would be perfect for iCade. Snooptalian Well-Known Member Sep 12, 2009 1,936 8 38 #16 Snooptalian, Oct 30, 2013 I'm an idiot. I mixed this one up with Callys Cave in reference to auto rotate. Spelunker doesn't do auto rotate for me either. Sorry for the confusion. At least it is locked in the best orientation, meaning speaker is on the right. I don't have the down button issue though. Anyway, sorry again about the rotate confusion... Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #17 Connector, Oct 30, 2013 Go icade! I'm stunned that this is out for iOS at all; one of my favorite games on Apple, C64 and NES. Wow! Dare I hope for other classic Broderbund titles?
